Took me a while to interpret that! 2x weekly is a good start!

Is the rest of the timetable being updated?

Yes being updated as we speak. JFK goes daily and not the 10 weekly as thought. LAX is confirmed at 3 weekly too.

And it's also worth noting that we now have 8 weekly flights to the West Coast USA.

3 weekly Los Angeles and 5 weekly San Fransisco.

It's a shame the timetable doesn't give full daily coverage, with no flights on Thursdays at all but 2 SFO on Sunday's.

It would be great if VS launched 2 weekly LAX to make 5x weekly for both SFO and LAX! Is their any more information on CPT and SAN?

Incredible to think there are two airlines competing on MAN-SFO, and there is the possibility of competition on MAN-LAX in the near future.

Bold moves, let's hope the market can sustain the new and existing services...

Agreed. LAX and SFO look to be seasonal for now? Unless the winter timetable has not yet been updated.

That LAX is increased and SFO introduced by TCX indicates a strong underlying demand this summer. I don't wish to put the cart before the horse, but I wonder if we are yet done with west coast increases...

TCX and VS must see some thing in the MAN-SFO market, to go from no services to 5 weekly with two competing carriers is quite good. I imagine the majority of business travellers will use the VS service, perhaps there is room for a 4th weekly VS service to be added like we have seen with BOS if that is what you are hinting at?

Or could we see yet another west coast destination, SAN?

Or even more unlikely for this year, certainly more likely in 2018 for example, VS to LAX?

I wonder if we could indulge in a spot of jocularity. Imagine the implication of a vertical integration between Thomas Cook and Flybe. Business travellers would still have the important links, leisure travellers may have a more automatic thought process of "hmm.. fancy a quick break over to ____. I wonder if Thomas Cook travel there?" instead of cottoning onto Flybe doing the route, and the existing long-haul fare would have the benefit of appearing "seamless" onto a domestic/European connection.

The issue I have with Flybe is that at the moment, they seem to be an airline for anyone and everyone, with codeshares from Virgin, Cathay, Air India, Singapore, Thomas Cook, Etihad and Emirates to name a few.

This method didn't work well for BMI, and surely won't work this time, yield must be pants.

It needs a clear direction, a clear strategy and a clear purpose. If that is to be be brought by someone like Thomas Cook to form a true 'hub airline', then I'm all for it, even if it's just the Manchester base and operation that gets brought out and the rest of Flybe continues being a regional airline.

Maybe nothing in it but I notice there is no longer any reference to SFO or any increases on other routes on the Website. Also the timetables as opposed to the booking engine has gone.

Personally I think we just have to wait to see the final schedules when flights are bookable. Just as DL reconsidered DTW, reportedly in the light of BREXIT, I'm sure other airlines, including TCX, will be doing the same (and not just at MAN).

It seems as if MP for Altrincham and Sale West doesn't know we have already secured a MAN-SFO with VS thrice weekly...
Great news especially for Boston meaning we have 7 weekly now if the third weekly VS and two carriers on the SFO route. TCX also expanding on the LAX route should also give VS some food for thought; a thrice weekly service with a business cabin not offered on TCX flights and a BE feed on the MAN side and a relitavely large DL feed from LAX would work brilliantly.

Extra aircraft apparently from Airbus Asset Management? More are available...

Airbus Asset will be the remaining ex Avianca Aircraft. Means TCX have now taken all 3.

Possibility of more to follow? TCX are building up a decent fleet of A332s...

More to follow, subject to other entrants to the marketplace...

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
