The aviation industry is certainly a volatile one, however take caution when using Ryanair's track record to predict other airlines' moves. Ryanair are known for pulling routes out of nowhere and suddenly returning to airports when they get their way regarding lowered airport taxes.

Here is the article. I don't see any specific mention of BHX or MAN but they could be reasonably assumed to be two airports Norwegian has its eyes on for 'long, thin routes':
The new 737MAX family build on the Next-Generation 737’s popularity and reliability, retaining operational commonality...
If this is true, it's excellent news.
One route id be VERY keen for Norwegian to start is Larnaca. It would be a sensible route as there is only one scheduled airline from BHX-LCA, monarch, who fly up to 5 x per week.
Flights from BHX-LCA are significantly more expensive than from Manchester...
Norwegian currently have 90 short haul aircraft (87 737-800s and 3 737-300s awaiting retirement). They have a further 43 737-800s on order.
They also have 100 737-8 MAX (with options for a further 100) and 100 A320 NEOs (with options for a further 50). Very exciting times ahead for Norwegian...
Sorry Ray only just seen this. Unforuntately they don't have charging points on board.

I found the route map on Norwegian's website very interesting
http://www.norwegian.com/uk/flight/route-map/
They show Birmingham as having just 5 destinations (as we know). From Manchester, dozens of...
I flew to Barcelona today with Norwegian, and they were phenomenal!
I paid just £76RTN which was cheaper than Ryanair and monarch at the time of booking in March.
The 737 was clean and modern, with great Recaro thin seats. Whilst they were thin, they were still extremely comfortable and at the...

Interesting article - Ryanair are in talks to fly to Paris Charles De Gaulle, where they previously said they would never fly.
Paris-UK has always been a strong market. London not so much anymore due to the Eurostar, but still in demand...
Norwegian start flying to Barcelona and Malaga, Ryanair increase their flights to both of these destinations.
Aer Lingus announce an increase in daily flights from BHX-DUB, Ryanair announce an increase on the same day.
Notice a trend? Further evidence that Ryanair MAY finally be taking BHX...
I'm shocked (and excited) to see that there will be 4 carriers from BHX-BCN even through the Winter! Battle of the strongest? Or are they all to stay? We'll see!
If Vueling add another route my bets are on Rome. It is their second largest base and they are continuously adding dozens of routes...
I really think the entrance from DY will give some airlines (particularly FR) the kick up the backside they need to realise how much potential BHX has; Ryanair growth at BHX has remained stagnant over the last few years. I just found an article from when Ryanair initially announced their BHX...
Great if true Ray! Out of interest, do you know how that poster is getting this information? Interesting to see that they were right about TFS and LPA!
I agree Brum X - it's great that (whether Norwegian are doing well or just average) they seem to have faith in Birmingham and they're sticking...
VERY exciting news re LPA and TFS; a true vote of confidence.
Re BCN and MAD not being bookable - they were originally on sale until 22 October. However I have just searched, and MAD is now available until 31st October (reducing from 3 x per week to 2 x per week, flying Wed and Sat instead of...
I saw some great photos of the inaugural AA flight from BHX-JFK. The 757 really is a beautiful aircraft. So long and thin, with the retro fitted winglets really topping it off! I find myself continuously shocked that Boeing discontinued the 757 with no replacement.
It's the perfect aircraft...
"@QB_Kimmy_Blanco: @Paul_Kehoe have Norwegian cancelled BHX-MAD & BCN or are they seasonal? Or is it still undecided if they will return?"
"@bhx_official: @Paul_Kehoe @QB_Kimmy_Blanco we're pleased to confirm both routes are year round."
Great news!! Very pleased to hear.
Thanks Ray!
That sounds promising! I'd be most keen to see MAD continue into the Winter season, and rumours of TFS and LPA sound exciting and are certainly viable.
In my opinion, Norwegian really need to invest in advertising in Birmingham if they're serious about BHX. I've seen a few...
"@QB_Kimmy_Blanco: @Paul_Kehoe have Norwegian cancelled BHX-MAD & BCN or are they seasonal? Or is it still undecided if they will return?"
"@Paul_Kehoe: @QB_Kimmy_Blanco to my knowledge still running. Year round but may not be on sale. I will get some further info for you. @bhx_official"
