First ever EasyJet service was Luton - Glasgow Nov 10th 1995 followed two weeks later to Edinburgh using one of two 737-200. Liverpool was their second base opened Oct 1997 with flights to Amsterdam, Geneva and Nice.
They've come a long way since.
Yeah different sound from the Tyne compared to the whine of the Viscount's Darts I could hear the Viscount starting up at home and sometime flying low over our house when using 06/24 as a kid.
Could walk to the airport through Elmdon park back then.
In addition to the above Silkway 744F the movementsblog shows a Silkway 77L due in at 18:30 out two hrs later t/f Baku.
I think this has happened before 🤔 and would mean it's on the ground with the Maersk 767 keeping the ground crews busy.
Silkway are pretty frequent but there doesn't appear to be a set pattern that I can see so I assume it's a on demand charter of some sort.
Maersk is daily except Fridays I think using a 767 t/f Billund. They also have sent a 77L in addition occasionally.
The 747 from Malta is by Mesk not to...
Just a quick second hand review of sorts via my wife who has zero interest or knowledge of aviation and flew out yesterday evening around 6:00pm. with a group of friends to Palma with Lauda on a A320
Firstly they were all mightily confused as they thought they were going on a Ryanair aircraft...
I've been fortunate to visit Cadiz a few times on cruises over recent years as its an entry/exit port to the Mediterranean it is definitely worth a visit in my view its proper Spanish ie not Benidorm with great food architecture and good beaches also you can visit Seville just over an hour away...

It's not really treading water EasyJet have just extended the booking dates of their existing network particularly the holiday division to avoid missing out on the early bookers to others.
It's not airport specific, keep your fingers crossed because what they are doing at LBA is a carbon copy...
It go
Patience may be needed but It's got to come from EasyJet ( 5 based in winter?) and Ryanair they will have (hopefully)bigger winter programmes while Jet2 will add little in terms of additional volume and TUI are stagnating at best.
In the end its a forecast not a certainty however the...
Yes that's got to be correct the three additional aircraft that EasyJet and Ryanair are basing will make up the bulk and any long haul would add a relatively small but welcome increase For comparison Saudi carried circa 6400 passengers in February while a single 737 operating say three rotations...
Busy on the Paris flights tonight.
Enter Air 737 bought in fans this morning departing late tonight along with the team bus KlasJet 737 mentioned above. Also tonight looks like at least six business jets heading back to Paris-LBG.
On the freight side two 747s today Silkway from/to Baku and...
