    CAA Provisional Statistics Update

A drop in numbers may be symptomatic of the reduction in service standards and subsequent attrition of once loyal passengers - unfortunately these service standards are now incumbent within BA short haul and to some extent on long haul. A quick look at Skytrax reveals a lot, and along with my...

We have booked a trip to Thailand for feb/march next year and against my better judgement booked it with BA. Just received notification that our early morning return journey connection on the LHR to LBA rotation has been cancelled and they have shifted us to the second rotation resulting in a 7...

    What services you are using?

In a few weeks flying down to LHR on the shuttle then on to Las Vegas and back from SFO to LBA via LHR. Will post to let you know what my shuttle experience was like.

Just returned from our trip to Kuala Lumpur (Langkawi actually) all flown on BA and Malaysia Airlines. Unfortunately our shuttle flight to LHR was planned on the 1st Nov but as we all know, most flights were cancelled out of LBA including ours. So, very quickly had to decided to get the train...

    What services you are using?

Flying out to BCN for a weekend getaway in a few weeks with MON then in November off to Malaysia with BA via LHR. Unfortunately we will miss the operational change from the old and tired looking 777-200 to the new 787 by a few weeks!

Hi, Flew down on the 09:30 shuttle (BA1341) last wednesday and flight was full to capacity (some pax i think were transferred from the cancelled KLM flights of the previous day owing to high winds). Large cohort of connecting passengers at LHR including us to JFK. Return this morning on the...

    What services you are using?

Going to JFK in April with BA/AA mix. LBA-LHR-JFK-LHR-LBA. Normally go to Barcelona in September but haven't booked that yet. Normally fly with MON for the trip, but as they have made the BCN a much later departure in the day (than previous years), then looks like it will be Jet2.

Do either Ridgeback or User001 think that those type of numbers will satisfy the number crunchers at BA? I certainly get the feeling that the route is gaining momentum. Also, have people been watching the BBC2 documentary about BA called 'A very british airline''? The program has provided a...

Thru checking the baggage when flying on seperate PNR's is pretty good customer service. I am sure BA aren't obliged to do that even though you were connecting onto another One World member. Its service like that which keeps me going back to BA. Loads seem to be doing well at the moment down to...

Appreciate that this may not be news for some, but just read on Tony Hallwoods Twitter account that he is working very hard to get a 7 am departure to LHR with BA. Fingers crossed for that one. Would certainly help with all those european/ USA departures which occur mid-morning. Off topic but he...

Flew the BA1341 (LBA-LHR) yesterday and the load was about 60-70 pax at a guess. At check-in it was good to see that the majority of pax were connecting onto long haul flights, SFO, Chennai, Nairobi, Boston, JFK to name a few, or connecting to short-haul european cities like myself...

    Monarch Airlines

Our flights for 2 ppl in Dec with MON to MUC ex LBA was £170. Dummy booking on Easyjey ex MAN was same roughly price. Worryingly you can't book any MUC fights now ex LBA - even in December. Tweeted MON yesterday and they assured me that the winter MUC flights were going ahead as scheduled...

I have booked a mini break in Munich in December with monarch ex LBA and haven't heard anything. Wonder if this is a summer scheduling change or if it will roll over to winter 13/14. On another note, how are current loads doing for their summer routes?

    CAA Provisional Statistics Update

CAA domestic figs for LHR route from LBA indicate a pax number of 7763. Presuming the data collected is from the start date of the BA flights until the end of Jan 2013 then the pax numbers are not all that bad to be honest. In very basic terms, this equates to approx 3880 pax/month. Assuming...
