Busy flight this morning, about 70-80% full. Many pax were going to twickenham for the rugby I think. Equipment was an A320. Lovely hot roll for breakfast on the plane and the Leeds based BA agents were lovely. Many of the pax were transferring onto other flights. Loads like this will/should ensure continuity of the route.

That's good to hear Stewie, thanks for the update, hopefully the problems that this route has experienced will dissipate, and it will be seen as a viable option by both BA and potential passengers. I've decided to give it a try, am just considering dates, I really hope that I'm not let down.

looks like the Belfast-Heathrow flight is operating via Leeds tonight as the northbound flight from Heathrow is running very late.

Yeap it would seem that A319, G-DBCG has just arrived into Leeds from Belfast City as SHT1421 to operate the southbound SHT1345.
Well what ever operates the delayed northbound SHT1344 service it looks like the aircraft and crew will be night stopping at LBA. As we now have a BAW9251P going back to Heathrow tomorrow lunchtime at 12:00.

I've got to admit its good to see BA picking up the southbound passengers instead of cancelling there flights and also still planning to operate the late northbound service even though it will mean a night stop up here..

Pretty much as you said:

1344 heavily delayed due to a tech problem on an earlier service to TLS.

1344/5 would have infringed the LHR NJB so a solution was found by sending the delayed a/c north as 1344 and nightstopping it and diverting the 1421 BHD-LHR via LBA to collect the 1345 pax.

BCF will position south at 1200 tomorrow.

The T1 operation is nothing like as robust as T5 it wld appear. The faster this route is in T5 the better IMO.

Noticed that the LBA website is now featuring an advertisement from BA who are offering flights to LHR from just £55pp/ow for the Bradford City final at Wembley!

Just thought it was worth the mention seeing as Monarch have advertised special flights as well.

The BA flights will just be the same scheduled flights won't they?

I spoke to a lady last week who was flying out on the late Heathrow flight, she said her flight worked out so much cheaper than by rail. The only downside for her was the timing of the flight for her return journey. She said she had priced up the rail equivalent to be around £250 yet her flight with British Airways from Leeds to Heathrow only cost £55 including taxes.

I see the East Coast Mainline rail route has major problems today yet again. Passengers are been advised not to travel. Got to admit this is yet another reason why passengers should look to switch to using the British Airways Leeds/Bradford to London Heathrow shuttle route instead.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-21516102

Just how long will the business passengers on the East Coast mainline put up with this nonsense; It seems to be happening on a more regular basis just at the moment for some reason...

I was supposed to be on a train from Leeds to Kings Cross then Farnborough to visit family in an hour but it has been cancelled due to the fiasco down south. I've quickly booked myself onto BA1345 tonight and the better half will have to pick me up from LHR when I arrive (she's already down there). Wonder how many additional passengers BA will pick up over the next couple of days due to this. The flight has cost me £66 as opposed to £35 on the train (plus 50 miles of petrol at the other end) but it's worth it to get there and not miss out on a family visit.

And what complimentary on board food and drink do I get?!?

It would seem to me, you have more chance of travel arrangements being messed around by BA, weather etc. than you would by going on the train. Does anyone have any impartial facts on this?

Flying is a lot quicker (which is a fact) & I would say much more comfortable than the train.

The point is though today the trains are messing people around. When people in the Yorkshire region become au fait with using the BA service I believe it will be a success.

"HorsforthExile" looks like your not the only passenger changing from Train to Plane tonight, As British Airways have sent in an Airbus A320 on this evenings SHT1344/1345 rotations.

The British Airways website lists the following for UK domestic's inflight service. http://www.britishairways.com/travel/uk-domestic-seating/public/en_gb

PS. I hope you enjoy your flight......

BA currently offer the following in flight on Domestic:

Take off before 0830 is a hot Panini with tea/coffee/juice.

After 0830 is a choice of Crisps, Cookies or trail mix nuts, with a choice of hot, alcoholic or soft drink.

Hope that helps.

Has something changed since 9th December as when I went on it they were serving bacon sandwiches at 9:30 from Leeds to London

LBA certainly picked up on this today, and were tweeting about the BA flight with a #stneotts tag on the tweets. This is where the overhead line damage is on the ECML.

The hot egg & mushroom panini i had on a recent BA flight was del-i-cious!! yum! Certainly sorted out my hangover!

The journey time is quicker yes, but given you have to check in some time before your flight there may not be much in it for a trip between Leeds to London - which is quicker will likely depend where in Leeds you start and where in London you want to end up.

Certainly I'd agree that flying is more comfortable than the train - mainly because on a flight people are generally better behaved.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
