Having followed local and national aviation matters for 60 odd years I am reluctant to rain on somebodies parade but I’m surprised that an airline thinks it can make a trans Atlantic flight work from Cardiff. Even Birmingham at about 15 times the size of Cardiff cannot get such a route.
I accept...
Half term trip to Rhodes using EasyJet Holidays. We were on the 06:50 departure on the Sunday morning, again took advantage of the twilight bag drop with free car parking in the short stay car park. It appears that the new multi storey car park is in use although the public transport...
The difference being that Cardiff is being subsidised by the Welsh Government and hence the tax payers and Bristol is investing without any Government Subsidy therefore no drain on national or local government. That would appear to make it unfair competition so possibly grounds for a challenge.
I know each airline has its own restrictions on runways and what is and is not acceptable but in the past from Bristol continental has operated to Newark direct and Tui have operated to Florida direct with B787 without having to make refuelling stops. Cancun was marginal for Tui, sometimes...
We recently returned from a short break in Ireland flying into Belfast with EasyJet as we were mainly in County Donegal.
Our flight out was early on the first Saturday of the school holidays, had to have a bag in the hold, so as we live nearby took advantage of the twilight bag drop. Quick and...
Just because there are no current arrangements for freight it doesn’t necessarily mean they cannot be provided in the future, particularly if that would be a clincher to get a major airline in.
In the past there has been freight carried by the airlines. Continental when they started would...
Tui are having to compete against Jet2 and easyJet holidays. Both to my mind provide a better product, you don’t have to pay extra to take a suitcase for your holiday, prices tend to be better as a generalisation. Last year we went to Kefalonia with EasyJet holidays, included flights , transfers...
I drove past the site today and work is in progress. Hugh piles of earth and rubble with groundworks still taking place, plenty of machinery working with drainage and other services appearing to be laid. All this is behind fashionably grey fencing, only able to see progress from the road through...
Over the last couple of months we have used Bristol Airport for two trips both with EasyJet.
The first was over Easter to Belfast, we were on the early morning departure on the Tuesday. Bag drop was busy but as we had paid for cabin bags we had speedy check-in, very quick and efficient. All...
Article in the Bristol Post today saying that direct flights from Bristol to Tirana are available. Quoted as weekly on a Wednesday with prices just over £80. Have I missed something or is this another case of mistaken reporting
