KLM have confirmed that they will be operating an extra daily return flight between Amsterdam and Glasgow airport from next April.

The airline has also increase flights into neighbouring Edinburgh airport.

Hi New Guy Here :)

Don't know if this is the right place to post but I noticed today (5/1/12) on flightradar24.com that a KLM 747-400 (PH-BFS) Operating KLM686 from Mexico City to Amsterdam diverted into Glasgow shortly after leaving Atlantic airspace over northern Ireland. I tracked it and actually watched it fly over my house before it landed on rwy 23 around 2PM.

I looked on KLM's website and they said they were expecting delays because of high winds in Amsterdam. This surprised me as I would of thought a 744 would of been less likely to be affected by this. Would anoyone be able to say if this is why they diverted into Glasgow or if there was another reason for it?

Thanks, Scott

Fuel low, it wont have been overly heavy to pop the aircraft into GLA. I guess it's the captains discretion where he lands although like you say, usually you would expect them to use PIK. I'm sure you wont be complaining if they do that again sometime!

KLM has added a fifth daily departure (Sun-Fri) at GLA in April-June & September-October

Flight KL943 departs Amsterdam at 1950 and arrives in Glasgow at 2020
Flight KL944 departs Glasgow at 2050 and arrives in Amsterdam at 2320

Currently operating with E175's and will be welcomed given the reduction in Lufthansa capacity.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
