I've been away for the past week. Did you ever find the answer to your query?

A Privilege B757 operated into BRS at the beginning of the summer season when TCX had all those flight deck crewing problems. I remember a Small Planet B 733, a Transavia B 738 and a Titan B 767 standing in for TCX A 321s around that time too. On one occasion a TCX B 757 was also drafted in.

Thomas Cook summer 2016 is due out this week. Been pretty stagnant at brs over the last few year s . Are we expecting anything new ?

I've not heard anything. Thomas Cook did upgrade its two based aircraft from A 320 to A 321 last year which provided additional seating capacity, although at the same time they may have reduced the number of seats they took on easyJet flights.

Summer 2016 - no expansion just a Friday kefalonia replacing Bourgas . Was kind of hoping for a bit more

Enfidha

This morning's TCX flight (A321) to Enfidha departed with 58 passengers. It brought back 226 later in the day. From this it can be estimated that between two thirds and three quarters of booked passengers on the outbound decided not to fly.

Following the situation in Tunisia TCX seems to have replaced its Saturday morning NBE rotation with one to Faro.

The Wednesday and Sunday rotations to NBE don't appear to have been replaced by another destination.

[offtopic]Incidentally, TOM has replaced its Wednesday NBE rotation with Mahon and Larnaca, and its Sunday NBE rotation with Malaga.[/offtopic]

Summer 2015

Until Enfidha (3 x weekly) was withdrawn part way through the season following the dreadful events in Tunisia there were 29 weekly rotations, the same as in summer 2014 and summer 2013. The Saturday Enfidha rotation was replaced by Faro but the Wednesday and Sunday Enfidha rotations were not replaced.

The programme post Enfidha was as follows - all operated by the two based A 321s:

0700 Corfu
1220 Zakynthos
1555 Dalaman

Changes from summer 2014:

Antalya was up from 2 to 3; Bodrum was dropped; Faro came in to replace one of the suspended 3 Enfidha rotations.

roumer on dried plum that thomas cook basing 3 aircraft summer 17 and 2 aircraft winter 17/18. if true a large increase of pax, and would think new routes as well. wait and see if that happens.

I heard a similar rumour a couple of months ago with a provenance that I would not dismiss out of hand. Of course, that doesn't mean it will happen.

Well Thomas Cook today have announced a major loss of revenue:

Tourism group Thomas Cook (TCG.L) stuck to its guidance for the year, after reporting a narrower loss in its first quarter, as demand for holidays grew in the typically less busy winter period when fewer Europeans take holidays.

For the three months ended Dec. 31, Thomas Cook said its underlying operating loss improved by 11 percent to 49 million pounds ($71 million), after more customers opted to travel to Spain and long-haul destinations like the Caribbean, instead of North Africa.

Terror attacks in Egypt, Turkey, Tunisia and Paris over recent months have made tourists more wary of those previously popular destinations, and the Zika outbreak in the Americas is also dampening global travel sentiment.

But Thomas Cook said it remained on track to meet guidance for the year ended Sept. 30, provided that a recovery in customer confidence continues.

The consensus forecast for core earnings (EBIT) currently stands at 347 million pounds according to Reuters data, representing a 12 percent rise on last year's result.

Report from Reuters.

So could this halt potential Growth plans for TCX or just a very unfortunate hic-cup due to last year's terrorist attacks on popular UK holiday resorts? I think we need to see how this year pans out for them to see if we do get the rumour of a 3rd aircraft for summer 2017.

Tcx are launching a weekly Malta flight starting April 2017 every Thursday.

Thanks Marko. Do you know what the asterisks against some days indicate?

There were certainly some very strong rumours that a third aircraft, probably a non-TCX machine, would be based in summer 2017. At one point I was told by someone with some knowledge of BRS matters that there was conjecture that the CWL-based third party A 320 would be moved across. I didn't post this at the time as it seemed to me to be unlikely and CWL does now have a programme for summer 2017 so will require a based aircraft.

The rumours about TCX long haul also seemed unlikely as a 330 would almost certainly need an en route fuel stop on outbound flights from the BRS runway.

I cannot work out what the asterisks are for sadly. However one wonders where these rumours come from and maybe we will see extra later on - let's hope

Indeed. Many thanks again.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
