Which is the best travel insurance company?

My parents have recently booked onto a cruise ship with Thomson Holidays and they have struggled to find a reasonably priced travel insurance company. Both are over the age of 60 so all the standard packages are starting to get expensive once you start to mention the blood pressure tablets and the cholesterol pills.

I usually just go on a price comparison site - I find Compare the Market the better one - fill out all the details (I usually include cancellation cover and baggage cover) and choose the cheapest 'respectable' looking brand. Last time I got insurance, it happened to be Virgin Money that were among the cheapest - the very cheapest was something like Insure4U.com or something dodgy looking!

Thank you for your replies guys. I was wondering if there might be a specialist travel insurance company somebody could recommend rather than the usual high street ones. Primarily because as soon as you mention the tablets the traditional high street brands shy away from providing cover for people who have blood pressure or other conditions. The probability of something going wrong whilst abroad is slim but insurance companies have some extortionate charges for people who require the extra cover.

Saga also do travel insurance - perhaps they could do a good deal given that it's specifically for over 50s.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
