Have any members had difficulty getting a cancelled flight refund from Vueling. My flight to Malaga with them was cancelled on the 18th March and apart from them sending an acknowledgment to my claim on the 19th March not a word from them since.

I've never had to try and get a refund with them, if they've taken that long then maybe try a chargeback on your card?

Vueling won't be operating Alicante on these dates.
3/12, 10/12, 14/1, 21/1 and 28/1. Back to 3 weekly back from February.
Malaga is won't be operating until 27th March.

Alicante suspended from 7th January until 2nd March.
Would be nice to post some good news for a change.

Further delayed starts

ALC restarts 25th March at 1 flight a week then back up to 6 weekly from 1st May
AGP restarts 1st May at 4 weekly
PMI restarts 3rd May at 3 weekly

It's getting better slowly, two announcements today, plus if WIZZ stick to their planned winter schedule winter could be busier than it has been for a few years, all we want now is some domestic winter routes. I'm sure the airport is trying its best to achieve some.

The way things are going flights won't restart until winter! Hopefully they'll put Malaga onsale soon as well.

Seems the Alicante route restarting on Thursday has caught the notice of 1 certain politician.
40 odd booked on Alicante flight for today? How can that be given the restrictions on overseas travel and the fact that ALC is primarily a holiday route with holiday travel abroad banned at the moment? 40dd one way and 30 odd the other who have legitimate mainly work reasons for travel - crikey!

It's been mentioned elsewhere that many may well be Spanish residents and citizens. I believe from next week travel to 2nd homes for sale and rental purpose will be allowed and travel for business is still allowed. It'll be people flying for essential reasons only.

Is Vueling also flying from CWL to Malaga from this week? Alicante (and Malaga if to be operated) would see some custom from/to South West England as nothing is due to operate there from BRS until May.

Addendum

Ignore that. Ryanair seem to be operating Spain from BRS from the end of this month.

From 30 March you will need a permitted reason to be allowed into Spain (as well as a permitted reason to leave the UK in the first place). I don't think homes for sale/rental is on the list.

Permitted reasons to enter Spain after 30 March 2021

From 6pm (GMT+1) on 30 March 2021 (5pm / GMT in the Canary Islands), passenger travel between the UK and Spain will resume, however entry restrictions and testing requirements will remain in force. Only Spanish citizens, those who are legally resident in Spain or those who can demonstrate through documentary evidence an essential need to enter Spain, will be allowed to enter the country. Permitted circumstances include:
  • Holders of a long-stay visa issued by a Member State or Schengen Associated State, who are travelling onto said country.
  • Health professionals, including health researchers, and elderly care professionals who are going to or returning from essential work.
  • Transport personnel, seafarers and aeronautical personnel.
  • Diplomatic, consular, international organizations, military, civil protection and members of humanitarian organizations.
  • Students who carry out their studies in the Member States or Schengen Associated States and who have the corresponding permit or visa and medical insurance, provided that they are travelling to the country where they are studying, and that entry occurs during the academic year or 15 days previous.
  • Highly skilled essential workers whose work cannot be postponed or carried out remotely, including participants in high-level sports events due to take place in Spain.
  • People traveling for imperative family reasons who can demonstrate an essential need to travel.
All of the circumstances above must be justified by documentary evidence. You should be aware that you may be questioned on arrival by Spanish border authorities to ensure you meet the entry requirements. Spanish border authorities will only grant entry if they are satisfied that your journey to Spain is essential and reserve the right to deny passage.

"The exemption, dubbed the "Stanley Johnson clause" will allow trips for the "purchase, sale, letting or rental of a residential property"."

The exemption applies to leaving the UK. You still need the right to enter your destination and for Spain there is no such exemption to enter as noted above.

I've taken this post from the Facebook page of Fly2Cardiff and it's about the Spanish government requirements for entry to Spain.
"
Worth reading if you are thinking of flying to Spain for Easter....Don't !!

Spain’s borders are open to European Union and Schengen-area countries.

On 22 December 2020, Spain introduced travel restrictions on passenger travel from the UK by air and sea, with the exception of Spanish or Andorran nationals and those legally resident in Spain or Andorra. The Spanish government has confirmed that these measures will be in place until 6pm (GMT+1) on 30 March 2021 (5pm / GMT in the Canary Islands).

After 6pm (GMT+1) on 30 March 2021 (5pm / GMT in the Canary Islands), while passenger travel from the UK to Spain will resume, entry to Spain will only be granted to those passengers who can demonstrate that their journey is essential. For further information on the permitted reasons to enter Spain and necessary documentation see Permitted reasons to enter Spain after 30 March 2021.

The Spanish government has formally confirmed to the UK government that UK nationals who were legally residing in Spain before 1 January 2021, and as such are beneficiaries of the Withdrawal Agreement, can use any of the following documents to prove their residence status when entering Spain:

Residence card issued under Article 18.4 of the Withdrawal Agreement (the TIE – Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero)

In the absence of any of the above, other documents that credibly evidence your legal residence in Spain before 1 January 2021, such as a padrón certificate (issued by your town hall), a work contract, a rental contract, or proof of property purchase may be presented.

However, due to current travel restrictions, be aware that you may be questioned on arrival by Spanish border authorities to ensure you meet the legal entry requirements. Spanish border authorities will only grant entry if they are satisfied that you are returning to Spain to your habitual place of residence, and reserve the right to deny passage."

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
