I wonder if bcn is a worry to vueling with load factors that low. mind you we don't know yield.

If Vueling can't get decent LF's/yields in October then it is highly doubtful BCN will ever become year round unless Vueling use a A319 then the LF's will look better but will the yield?

It's reported that Vueling will commence 6 x weekly Manchester-Amsterdam from next March. Now MAN is of course a different animal to CWL but at least IAG is looking at AMS from the UK with Vueling. Maybe much further down the line...............

I am well aware of the different types of aircraft used which is why I used the logs to work out exactly which flights operated and on which type of aircraft. Therefore the LF should be very accurate, unless I've done some silly maths errors.

Vueling have added some extra flights for the half term.
Alicante ALC-CWL 06.45-08.20 CWL-ALC 08.55-12.25 on the 27th May there will be 2 ALC flights on the Saturday.
Malaga AGP-CWL 07.00-08.35 CWL-AGP 09.15-12.50 on the 27th May there will be 2 AGP flights on the Saturday.
AGP-CWL 12.30-14.05 CWL-AGP 14.45-18.20 on the 4th June on a Sunday.

That's not at all bad for January. If Vueling ever flew from CWL to Faro they'd have much bigger loads than Flybe currently manages, even in January.

It would be interesting to see if they could do better. If they ever based aircraft it would be interesting to see what routes Vueling would chose outside of the ones they already do.

Just looking at the prices for the Vueling ORY service next weekend and the prices are pretty cheap only 139 euro for a friday departure and sunday return compared to 330 pounds for Flybe but VY are trying to fill an A321 but considering the amount of fans that go to Paris i wouldn't have thought that would be hard.

vueling had problems last year filling a a320 aircraft. cant remember exact problems but I know there was a lot of unhappy punters and the word was never book with them again.if you look back in historic posts not only here but other forums and you should find the answer. my feeling was that vueling are low cost airline then they thought flight tickets should be cheap as the same with the hotel prices.

I've seen a post on another forum about the VY AGP and ALC flights from a couple of days ago by passengers on the flight and they were saying that the flights were basically full and that there were a lot of Spanish passengers onboard a few with west country accents and many of the welsh pax had already booked future flights with VY. Considering VY is doing well on these routes in March i'm wondering if there could be the possibility of them going 4 weekly in March next year? Maybe double daily on a Saturday with both routes with an afternoon departure from CWL? Could also be extended throughout the summer as well? Also a morning flight for PMI?

Now that Vueling has become well-known in South Wales it has built up its routes impressively. I expect further growth but how it comes about I await with interest. Daily or 6 x weekly on AGP and ALC would not surprise me in summer 2018.

Incidentally, more and more people from the Bristol area seem to be moving over the bridge to live because of ever increasing house prices which are already amongst the highest in the country outside London, and are being replaced by Londoners coming West where to them the prices are still reasonable. A Gwent estate agent said recently that 80% of enquiries for house purchase in his area are coming from the Bristol region. So there might be even more West Country accents in evidence with Vueling and other airlines at CWL in the future.

So it could be possible that instead of attracting people from over the bridge they are attracting people that live in South Wales. Though for the Gwent area many might consider BRS to be there local airport especially as by road there isn't much difference distance wise from Newport to BRS and CWL.

No, I'm not suggesting that all the people on the flights with West Country accents live in South Wales - far from it. I'm just saying that with the trend to move house from the Bristol area to South East Wales in particular (something that has been going on for years but currently seems to be increasing because of house prices) will give rise in the future to even more West Country accents on CWL flights.

I know people who live in Bristol and commute to Wales each day for work. Our son is one. He works in Newport and lives in Bristol, so it's not just a one-way thing, and not everyone who lives in the Bristol area has local accents any more than those who live in South Wales.

If you live in the area north of Bristol, particularly to the north-west, it's not that much longer time-wise to reach CWL than to reach BRS by road. Then again, BHX is quite tempting for those who live to the north of Bristol too.

With its present airport management and board set-up, vastly improved on anything in the past decade or two perhaps at any time in the past, I expect to see the CWL owners trying to reach out to capture more passengers from the areas beyond its core catchment.
