Hi folks, to keep everybody updated, we were left with little time to sell our summer flights after Jet2 dropped their legal challenge, as a result we had to take the difficult decision not to go ahead with them. We are not going anywhere though and wish to thank all those that sent in messages of support. We believe like many of you, that Humberside can be a great airport for the region and we are now working on future flights we can offer.

Their comment about 'we are now working on future flights we can offer' (at HUY) seems a bit nebulous.
I take it to mean summer 2013 but they don't actually say that.
Possible flights to Rotterdam,Brussels,Paris+Dusseldorf from Humberside Airport later this year!anyone interested?plse retweet for response!
There's now 2 Palma flights in 2013, Tue & Fri from DSA, increased from 1 in 2012. Looks like the HUY rotation is moving to DSA.
Expect the same with Dalaman, making that twice weekly also.
We have once again had a setback with our name, it seems the Civil Aviation Authority are still not allowing us to trade under it, despite Jet2 dropping their case. We are trying to get this decision overturned, however if we can't, then we will have to rebrand, hopefully if this happens it won't cause too much of a delay. We'll keep you all posted!

Its quite disheartening to read that Blackpool are getting the very routes that have a proven record of selling well from HUY for over a decade. Jet2 seem uninterested in both HUY and DSA, prefering their passengers to use bigger bases at EMA and LBA. You cannot blame them, however what HUY needs is an established operator, or IMO they are best just looking to maintain what they have got, and hope that the charter market will pick up again eventually. That is unless of course there ever is a serious attempt at starting a proper airline with a sound business case, sufficient financial backing and people behind it with significant experience in the industry.
Think Jet2 could make a success out of HUY just like they can out of BLK. However BLK-MAN are alot further apart then HUY-LBA-EMA and i don't see them wanting to dilute passenger numbers at both airports. Maybe we could see Jet2 W routes with a BLK or EMA based aircraft possibly in the future to PMI, AGP & ALC
