Was to be expected, plenty of supporters of the Vulcan gave up long ago with the management or more mismanagement of the charity.

Interesting, is the railway line near ?
3180m from the terminal building to be precise.

I think Doncaster airport is a long way off from getting its own railway station. Its the same frustrating situation as Leeds where to prove the viability of a new station you have to have an airport carrying significantly more passengers.

We have the same over at Liverpool, and the railway line isnt really too far, about 2-3 miles. There is the parkway station which is good, but an improvement from there would be most welcome. A tram link might be easier. Why does everything take so long in the UK, unless you are in London of course, then possibilities seem endless. Just a bit of that would be nice......." levelling up " !!!??

It was rejected a couple of years ago as "not good value for money". I think the local MP is trying to drum up a bit of free publicity.
Not 100% sure, but I believe any airport has to have a throughput of 5m pax before a railway connection is considered.

Then again anything outside London is not good value for money. That's why nothing happens.

Didn’t this MP suggest a line to connect to the Lincoln line - with the implication that this would open the catchment area up to ‘9 million’..? The original proposal was to reroute the ECML a couple of miles, slightly better prospect of working but hugely expensive. The latest suggestion is to build an entirely new line from the very quiet Doncaster - Lincoln line. I’d like to know which rail operator he thinks would run that service 🤦‍♂️

Totally impractical idea, I can't imagine LNER/HullTrains/Grand Central being happy about adding time to their Journeys.

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
