This maybe something to watch out over the next few days as BBC News are reporting that Mount Etna in Sicily has rumbled back to life again today..

Hopefully it wont bring mass disruption to flights around Europe and nearby countries.

Europe's highest active volcano rumbles back to life

Europe's highest active volcano has rumbled back to life.

Italy's Mount Etna on the Mediterranean island of Sicily has released a column of ash up to 5,000 metres (over 16,000 feet) above sea level.

Lava was also seen flowing from a new crater according to the Catania Institute of Geophysics and Vulcanology.

Officials have held a crisis meeting at the nearby Catania airport but for the moment flights have not been halted.

I don't think Mt Etna could cause as much disruption as the Iceland volcano which I'm not going to even try to spell. I think the main problem with the Iceland volcano was the with the amount of melting ice being thrown up into the atmosphere with the volcanic ash. I think the steam this created caused the ash to reach much higher altitudes than it would normally reach. Don't get me wrong, I'm no expert but I remember seeing a TV news report detailing why it cause so much more trouble.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
