It appears to be Amsterdam based as per the first post as the flight numbers for BHX-BOD and BOD-BHX are EJU6647 and EJU6648

No worries, EJU have only recently started doing W patterns to the UK from AMS, Southampton see's it during the winter

Yes, they are hinting that BHX would be a possibility from NCL with the new Newcastle base in the future.
It's many years now since we had a Newcastle service ( Eastern a/w).
The rail fares are ridiculous on that route. Might work?.

At some point today the 5th based A320 will arrive at BHX. I've noticed lately that a lot of flights that used to be away based ones are now originating in BHX, such as BFS, AMS et al. This is to be expected to some degree.
Would anyone know what the percentage increase in passengers these two extra based units are creating at BHX, taking into account the amount of away based that is now home based?

Just a guess but it may be simpler for the airline to have just one engine type at a newer / smaller base, with the issues of getting hold of spare parts, doing maintenance, etc…

Perhaps...although BHX is the only base with no NEO's. Even their newest base Southend started with all NEO's

BHX as a base was "launched" with a NEO, It's likely just down to how it fits into the aircraft maintenance cycles in the long term rather than anything to do with aircraft going tech in the short term, all aircraft are susceptable to faults and failures and there is probably an argument to be made that if anything the CEO's are more vulnerable to that purely through age.

EZY are as savvy as its yellow and blue competitors. If you ever notice a frame swap they've performed, it's generally not a positioning flight unless they absolutely have to. A crewed flying airliner without paying passengers is a huge cost drain (Unless you're TUI lol, they seem to have stuff moving around empty all the time). What they tend to do is swap two aircraft from different bases landing at the same destination at similar times, for example, the two aircraft may operate BHX-CDG-LTN and LTN-CDG-BHX, with Luton having a large EZY maintenance presence for heavy checks and overhauls etc.

To that point, I think it's luck of the draw and we'll see NEOs in the future.

I'd love to see BHX be considered to have enough 'high-density' routes for EZY to base a 321 at BHX, that'd definitely be a NEO.

Hehe...that so called launch NEO, flew up from LGW, then promptly flew back down to LGW. Purely for promotional purposes.
