OLT Express planning to commence twice weekly flights from Bristol to Bydgoszcz from October 31st, which forms part of a major expansion by the airline into the UK and other parts of europe!

Flights operate every Wednesday & Saturday, but with some strange flights times! I would hope these are provisional but they are cheap so could be correct!

No announcements from Bristol Airport as yet, but flights are on sale now at http://www.oltexpress.com/en

Flight Times:-

Outbound: 02824 Dep Bristol 02.20 Arr Bydgoszcz 05.30
Inbound: 02823 Dep Bydgoszcz 23.30, Arr Bristol 00.40

Flights operated by an Airbus A320

If I am correct I believe this was a route that Ryanair once operated from Bristol!

Nice to see another airline coming to Bristol and the third new route in about a week! Keep them coming Bristol! ;)

Interesting timings being offered by the airline..

Am I to believe that the majority of passengers, won't be too bothered with these timings, or is this a problem that might face the service in the future..?

I ask, because through general common knowledge, timings like that don't bode well, with people preferring day-time flights...

Looking at the OLT Express flight schedule, flights from Liverpool to Bydgoszcz have the same 02.20 Dep time! Only time will tell if this is the final flight times, they could be only provisional but who knows!

This route is due to commence this winter arriving BRS 0040 and departing 0220?

Last winter there were no arrivals after midnight nor departures before 0600.

Welcome as it is I can't think it will survive with these timings, either operationally at the airport or commercially.

Ryanair did operate BRS-Bydgoszcz in summer 2010. It commenced in May and was axed at the end of June. June saw a load factor of 71%, not normally a disaster for a new route, but Ryanair like their 90%s to Poland.

Bydgoszcz will be BRS's eighth Polish route - Ryanair currently have six and easyJet one.

Leeds had a similar flight a few years back to Warsaw with Centralwings flying at silly'o'clock. It was surprisingly busy but it didn't last long so it can't have had quite the support it needed to continue.

Let's hope Bristol has more success with this!

OLT Express to Bydgoszcz

This seems to have now gone quiet.

Was supposed to be starting in October this year but the BRS web map doesn't show the route although the other seven Polish destinations, including Warsaw Modlin that is due to start later this year by Ryanair, are shown.

I've not read anything official from Bristol Airport about OLT Express.

Beginning to look an unlikely entrant now.

The Polish subsidary of OLT Express Germany seems to be in some trouble, the OLT Express german website seems to suggest the Polish arm is to solely base its business on Charter, but the German arm is to continue with its aim of further expansion! I am basing this on my translation from German to English, so I could be wrong! So I guess this is the end to all the planned expansion into the UK including Bristol!

I had a feeling it might not go anywhere as there had been no communication from Bristol Airport when the airline announced the planned routes!

Rapid expansion may have been its downfall, but can't blame them for trying!

This has been on the cards for a while. I posted the above on 28 June.

Rumour suggests that there had been no contact with the airport at any time - nothing serious anyway that would have enabled an official announcement by the airport.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.

Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
