WOW!! Things are really moving ahead now at some pace aren't they.
Let's hope that these new services are successful as the magic 10 million pax figure surely is achievable next year.
Well done to all involved :hatsoff:

Very good news.

I think this is another route that needs some good advertising, although Barcelona is relatively well covered if this does well it could potentially lead to more destinations from Vueling in the future.

Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, Vueling are coming to BHX

2 news airlines in 2 days

My Guess is Finnair next at x5 weekly to Helsinki ?????????????????????????

Paul Kehoe wasnt wrong when he said the conference in Chicago was the best yet, credit where credit is due i say. Well Done.

I wonder how long the process takes to secure a new route, somehow I doubt AA and Vueling could have been organised this quickly since Chicago unless preliminary discussions had taken place before. For all we know there could be more to come.

AA and BHX have been talking for a while, but Routes was where the casual agreement was made.

Its worth pointing out, no flights are formally agreed at Routes, its done later on the return to the respective HQ's. Routes is mainly a 'speed dating' event to garner interest.

Vueling commence BHX operations 1st June, initially x3 weekly and then rising to x4 weekly from 22nd June. From 3rd August frequency rises to x5 weekly until 7th Sept when it reduces back down to x2.

Just checked a random week in August and these are the times shown.

Sun arr 11:50, dep 12:35
Mon arr 13:25, dep 14:10
Wed arr 16:55, dep 17:35
Thur arr 14:15, dep 14:55
Fri arr 12:05, dep 12:50

Article on the airport website, there's nothing new though.

Vueling to Launch Birmingham Barcelona

This new service will add an additional 21,600 seats to Barcelona from Birmingham and give passengers a choice of more than 140 destinations on the Vueling network across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Operating 180 seat A320 aircraft, flights will depart from Birmingham at lunchtime and arrive into Barcelona mid-afternoon

Andrew,

If only there was somebody who worked for BA on this board... ;)

The short answer to your question can be found on the 'route development' thread.

Barcelona is now bookable into winter (as far as Dec 14th at the moment). The timetable shows it drops to 2x weekly in September (Sun and Mon) then switches to Mon and Fri at the end of October.

Good to see Vueling now bookable into the winter.

As well as an Iberia code the Vueling flights now have a BA flight code and are bookable on the BA website. Only BCN is available though, none of the connections are showing.

BA 8189 and BA 8188.

Vueling have bought their first flight forward to Saturday 23rd of May with another flight on Sat 30th of May, no doubt for the school half term holidays.

As of June 1st it's still as advertised.

BCN is now bookable right through winter to the end of Feb. There is a three week break from 14th Dec, the weeks either side of Christmas but it remains at 2x weekly throughout.

There is no longer a break over the Christmas period although the days of operation change to Wed and Sat for two weeks. Flights are on Dec 23rd, 26th, 30th and Jan 2nd before reverting back to Mon and Fri.

The website now also shows BCN going back up to 4x weekly in April 2016 on Mon, Wed, Fri and Sun although they are not bookable past March 14th yet.

Good optimism from Vueling and hopefully we might see another route like Bilbao, Coruna or maybe Florence?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
