Liverpool seems to be having a mini boost at the moment :smile:

Irish airline Aer Lingus says it is resuming its direct link between Dublin and Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) later this year after a break of several years.

From October 23, the carrier will offer 16 flights a week to the Irish capital on an 174-seat Airbus A320 aircraft

At last, Aer Lingus has been a missing carrier from Liverpool for far too long. Hopefully they stand up to Ryanair.

Liverpool seems to be finding its feet with carriers. From no connecting routes to 3!

Aer Lingus is actually one of Liverpools oldest serving airlines, but with a long hiatus of not serving after Dublin to Liverpool/ Manchester were divided up by the Irish government some years ago. They have struggled to regain their position at Liverpool ever since. Lets hope this time they can make it work.

Maybe too do with slot availability and they maybe trying to tie the route in with connections to and from the USA.

I guess concentrating on US connections rather than trying to go head to head with FR. A nice touch they are using EI original DUB-LPL-DUB flight numbers .

The airport / Aer Lingus hasn't officially announced the route as yet, although its in the system. I suspect it will be next week sometime.

In 2 weeks Aer Lingus rerurns to Liverpool after a 7 year absence. I hope they make a better job of it this time around, and stand up to Ryanair who predictably have increased their offering significantly.

two weeks, Aer Lingus arrives on Merseyside, offering 11 weekly departures to Dublin from Liverpool, including daily connections to the following US cities:

New York-JFK
Washington Dulles
Chicago O'Hare
Boston
Philadelphia

Would suggest they are managing ok against FR.
