It really is superb news! Hopefully we can secure a Poznan route tomorrow as has been suggested, but the fact a press release has been opened about the Manchester winter schedule suggests not. Lviv would also be great for next year if they have success in Kiev.

EDIT 16th March: We didn't make the cut for Poznan

Just a heads up which may be useful for some. It is currently possible to book MAN-HAM return (that's RETURN!) for GBP9.98 all-in. That price even appears on some April dates ... not even months off. I've booked a trip ...

Yes. MAN-HAM is a bunfight between Eurowings, EasyJet and Ryanair. Ryanair is the new entrant to the route. Eurowings upgraded from CRJ900's to A319/A320. And FlyBe are not far away at Hanover. Not surprising that Sun-Air gave up on Bremen pretty quickly.

Seems the Ryanair flights to Kiev might not be secured just yet, as KBP airport have said they cannot yet agree terms with Ryanair, stating Ryanair are pushing for too low a price to use KBP.

It's a situation to watch.

Ryanair will start offering connections through Madrid to long-haul destinations, with Air Europa. This will effectively mean you can book MAN-MAD (Ryanair) and then MAD-a range of latin American destinations. Great to see a new option for customers and will hopefully help grow their MAN-MAD offering.

I was listening to 5 Live this morning and the Chief marketing officer was being interviewed and he claimed that Ryanair was Manchester's biggest airline. Is that true? Because i always thought it was Easyjet?

Dobbo is correct. Easyjet have more based a/c but Ryanair operate a lot of services with non-based a/c.
The ACL reports will confirm the situation on seat capacity.

Seems this was nailed on even back then.

Ryanair have pulled all Ukraine routes as the fees Ryanair wanted were too low.

Let's hope Ukraine International can pull this out of the bag to keep the Kiev route dream alive, there are certainly enough pax for it!

Question is, where will Ryanair send this aircraft 3 days a week now, as it was a MAN based route and there is t enough room at MAN to keep it parked up for 7 hours a day.

There is of course still the option of Kyiv's other commercial airport at Zhuliany, used by Wizz Air, FlyDubai, Pegasus etc. But I suspect that protectionist politics rather than airport charges may be the real stumbling-block in this case.

Just looking at S18.

Nothing to write home about just yet.

Seville increases to 3 weekly (Mon/Wed/Fri).

Budapest goes down to 4 weekly (was 5 weekly this summer).

Beauvais seems to be dropped completely.

An interesting short break proposition.

If you fly out to Roma Ciampino from MAN on the early Monday AM Ryanair flight (Winter schedule) you will arrive in Rome at 09:20 with a full day ahead of you. On Tuesday evening there is a homeward flight to MAN leaving Rome at 21:50 giving you a second full usable day in Rome. This means that you require just one hotel night. Mine cost £33 for a single room including city tax for the 3* Hotel Flavia (special offer on there at the moment). Prices for couples presumably lower per head? Plenty of similar offers around. Total trip cost for two days away from the February cold came in at £99.98 for me.

It's a good time to forage the usual airline websites for deals like this over the Winter. Two nights / three days in 3* hotel in Benidorm flying with Jet2 (ALC) also booked for £152.55

Get yourselves bargain-hunting ... it's shopping season on the airline websites!

As you say, There are some cracking deals to be had out there EGCC-MAN.

I bagged 7 nights in Albufeira in January, half board 2 adults 2 children, flying Monarch, luggage included and car hire for the duration. £629 all in.

I know the Algarve isn't going to be tropical in January, but it's bound to be slightly warmer than here, and for that price, be silly not to!

There seems to be 2 flights to FCO in February.

Not sure why, as the flights to CIA also seem to be operating those days.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
