Oh yes, sorry. I understand that may have confused within the context of the discussion. Has anyone ever tried a MAN-ACC, LOS flight to cater to the Nigerian/Ghanaian sizeable diaspora then?
Obviously I am not suggesting that ArikAir should launch MAN-LOS flights but has anyone ever 'tested' the market so to speak?
Arik declined slots offered for Manchester some time ago because they wanted more Heathrow - then somarily cancelled their Abuja service .Afraid the Nigerian aviation industry is just as unreliable as much of the rest of their economy and corrupt political system.
Ghana has suffered similar mismanagement and failed airlines however Ghana did get close to starting a DC10 service jointly with Dusseldorf at one point.
Services to sub Saharan Africa struggle from the UK in general.
However we did have short period of service to Djibouti of all places a few years ago - it went via Gatwick on a Daalo code however was operated by a local My Travel 757 !
Manchester has also had series charter flights to Mombasa and to Cape Town (via Dublin) and a long time ago a scheduled South African 747 flight via Paris to Johannesburg.
Both Air Seychelles and Air Mauritius have also operated schedules services into Manchester.
