England v Wales

I watched some of the game on the telly. I wasn't too impressed with England in the parts of the game that I saw. They seemed to make a lot of unforced errors. Perhaps credit is due to Wales for pressurising them leading to the mistakes. It certainly wasn't a spectacular feast of running rugby. Something for the true connoisseur maybe.

I listened to most of it on the radio and it seemed like Wales just made too many mistakes and didn't get the luck with the TMO decision with Anscombes disallowed try.
England are a very good team and i think in hindsight 12 6 coming away with a losing bonus point isn't too bad though victory would've been better. I did listen to part of Eddie Jones interview after the match and he seemed a bit spiky like a coach under massive pressure.
I honestly think that this Championship could be an Ireland Grand Slam. I don't think Wales will win in Dublin but i do see them beating France and Italy.
It's going to be an interesting Six nations!

Yes, it should be an interesting Six Nations. It often is.

I see the ladies rugby was played between England and wales. The score was 56 nil to England. Is the ladies rugby played with as much passion or roughness as the mens rugby.

Yeah it is pretty good and growing as well but there is a big gap between the England and Wales team. The England team is fully pro i believe while the Welsh team isn't .

Hence the score line then. But every team is there to be beaten. Its like football with the ladies teams.Money talks and its showing in some of the ladies teams.

It's always difficult to criticise any aspect of women's sport because there will be those who instantly label the comment sexist. I've tried watching women's rugby on the telly for short periods so I'll just say that I'm not a fan of the female version of the game. They lack the explosive power and lightning speed which is so important in the men's game and to me makes it worth watching.

I'm watching a programme on Channel 4 regarding Singapore Airlines's new state of the art first-class suites. The contract to manufacture the new suites was awarded to a Welsh company based at Cwmbran.

That's great news for them! Maybe they can ship them out to Singapore using the new Qatar Airways flights!

They fitted them into a new 380 before it entered revenue service. I presume the other 380s will be uprated and those new suites will also be fitted by the company.

BBC called it "England earthquake" to begin with :banghead:
Not surprised at that! Sky news report focused more on Cornwall and Liverpool than the area it actually hit. Luckily it was only a minor earthquake and no damage has been done.

My monitor and chair shook and I pretty much knew what it was straight away but wanted verification. My brother in Exeter said his window creaked but put it down to strong winds! With it being quite bit, I expect there may be a couple of aftershocks in the next week or so.

I'm the other side of the country in thurrock but i rung my parents up in Cardiff and they didn't feel a thing. I've seen a few posts on Facebook and Twitter say they didn't feel anything.

I felt nothing in Bristol this afternoon. I was in the central area and my wife at home on the southern edge of the city felt nothing either.

Lots of stuff in the local rag saying it was felt across the city (Bristol) with minor structural damage mentioned. As I said earlier, neither my wife nor I felt anything several miles apart in the city this afternoon.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
