Random Stuff!!

SWAG showing Klass Line 733 showing flight to Bucharest at 1400 today. I believe the Welsh FA, have used them in the past.
Looks like my info about the 767 was wrong. LY-BGS is on the way from Gdansk. I wonder who the 767 is for then?

It's parked on Echo, so might be in for an engine change or some engineering work. We don't get many South African registered planes at CWL so nice to see something different.

Or 767s anymore. If it was for a passenger flight you'd have thought it would be on stand 6. One Air often get maintenance done on Echo so it does suggest that it could be engine work as you said.

Mentioned by a poster on Pprune, that Castlelake were after 49% of the business. I wonder if Easyjet Europe, is run as a seperate business to the UK operation, if it is that would make things a bit more difficult as well.

i don't know the details but castlelake have already put forward a proposal to address that issue.
[/QUOT

Castlake have formed an Irish company with two highly experienced aviation individuals one being Peter Bellows ex EasyJet Chief Operating Manager the company will hold 51% of EasyJet and Castlake 49%. The arrangement meets EU regulations and gives Castlake de-facto control of EasyJet.

All subject of course to the deal going through in the coming months,Castlake currently due to undertake due diligence.

Stephen Kinnock has been named the new Secretary of State for Wales.

Are the Peace protesters in Scotland going to do the same thing and go to the Scottish parliament and ask them to stop US military flights into Prestwick airport, which is used quite heavily by the US military more so than Cardiff . Be interesting to see brings in a lot of money for the airport over the years .

Well there was calls to stop the US military using Prestwick but apparently the Scottish government doesn't have the powers to so i don't see the Welsh government having them either.

Anything on defence, including allowing the US military using any airport in Scotland, Wales or anywhere else in the UK is the decision of Central Government...or in other words the UK Government. Writing letters to the First Minister for Scotland or Wales will more or less say the same... paraphrasing here but along the lines of "these powers have not been devolved to Scotland/Wales". Of course there's nothing stopping either First Minister to have discussions with the PM about it. They should take their protests to No 10 or No 10 North!

From interactions with one of the people behind it i think this is more about Plaid Cymru than the UK government. There are certain people on the left who want Plaid Cymru to well essentially be a pacifist party and have previous criticised them for welcoming a defence company setting up a factory in Wales. The US military has been using Cardiff Airport for a while now but I don't remember them writing such a letter to the previous government.

Pretty sure he can't do anything about it and the contract isn't between the airport and the US military it's between Global Trek and the US military.
Another article with questions from the group. It looks the Welsh government is saying it's a reserved matter and the questions they asked they could the info themselves. Warplanes is not what I'd describe a C130 lol.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
