I think its one based and some non based. They seem a carrier with ideas , I wouldn't be surprised if routes suddenly are added.

I'm sure Blue Air will do really well from Liverpool. If the much rumoured Easyjet expansion from Manchester come to fruition, Liverpool will need to broaden it's horizon and seek new airlines to expand from the airport, even if that means operating on Easyjet turf. Blue Air seem to be doing just that with it's choice of destinations with Bergamo, Bucharest, Bacau and Cluj.

I agree they also seem to react quite quickly. They also have good in flight service/comfort levels. I went to Hamburg last year with them and this year will go to Bergamo, was very surprised to be offered complimentary drink and snack.

Their 737-700 looks really smart I think .

Yes they don't seem afraid to try things. Picking Liverpool to base at in the an area dominated by Ryanair and Easyjet was a brave decision but seems to be working out for them!

I'm sure they can pick up routes EZY/FR dropped or moved, or add capacity to routes that really need it. I know some routes are really high load factor, so more seats would be good.

They do seem to have picked some good routes with the money maker sun routes and there home turf of Romania and Italy. Will be interesting to see what they add next and if they add anymore UK bases.

Blue Air are celebrating their first anniversary since opening their base at Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) 12 months ago.

Liverpool became Blue Air’s eighth European base in March 2017 with the basing of one of the airline’s 144 seat Boeing 737-700 aircraft at LJLA. This aircraft has operated from Liverpool to Rome, Milan and Alicante throughout the past 12 months and carried over 140,000 passengers in what has been a successful year for the carrier.

Blue Air also operate flights from the Romanian cities of Bucharest, Cluj and Bacau carrying a further 100,000 passengers over the past year on these routes too.

As well as benefiting the region’s travellers, Blue Air’s decision to base one of their aircraft at Liverpool had an immediate impact on the local economy too, with the airline creating 38 jobs for pilots, cabin crew and engineers. Whilst also providing direct access for more overseas visitors to the Liverpool City Region.

The region’s travellers have been full of praise for the airline and their support has helped to encourage Blue Air to add more destinations from Liverpool, with flights due to start in June 2018 to Malaga and Palma.

Blue Air are adding an extra flight to Rome, to provide extra seats for football supporters.

The flight will depart Liverpool at 10.00 on 2 May, and a return service on 3 May at 03.30.

Liverpool’s newest airline, Blue Air, is quickly becoming the local airline of choice as they schedule a flight for supporters travelling to the Liverpool FC match in Rome.
Minutes after the deciding draw, putting Liverpool FC against AS Roma in the semi-finals, Blue Air responded by adding a late departure from Fiumicino Airport in Rome. With matchday flights from Liverpool John Lennon Airport, supporters can enjoy a day trip.

Blue Air has scheduled flights to depart from Liverpool on Wednesday 2nd May at 10:00am and return Thursday 3rd May at 3:30am. Availability is limited and selling fast.

For the winter months Blue Air are advertising Milan/Bergamo 2 per week, Rome 4 per week, Alicante 4 per week, Malaga 2 per week, Bacau 2 per week and Bucharest 4 per week. Malaga was lauched this year, its good to see the service is running into the winter period.

Is Liverpool a two aircraft base now for the summer months?

It's great to hear that Blue air are doing so well, hopefully they will decide to do something similar from other UK airports in the future.

Hi...still one based plus visiting aircraft,they seem to be slowly building and it's good for Liverpool not to be too reliant on the orange and blue guys !

Steady growth is probably the best way forward, we see too many come in with all guns blazing only to retreat soon after.

I have flown on them twice and thought them very good.
