Weather & Technical Diversions, Delays & Cancellations

TUI's flight TOM6738 to Lanzarote now departed EXT at 21.44 hrs.
The return flight TOM6739 currently given an ETA of 05.44 hrs back at EXT.

Will be interesting to see punctuality of tomorrow (Monday) mornings flight TOM6100 from EXT to LPA, due to depart at 09.45 hrs - obviously not with the same flight crew, who I believe are still Manchester based.

Kudos to TUI for still flying and not 'throwing the towel in' at the first opportunity.

A night flight. Better than no flight at all but not what punters would have been expecting when they booked.

Plenty of action at EXT this evening courtesy of TUI. B737 G-TAWF on flight TOM6101 LPA-EXT arrived back at Exeter at 20.51 and B737 G-FDZW on yesterdays delayed flight TOM6739 ACE-EXT arrived back at Exeter a few minutes later at 20.58.

Expect one of these two aircraft to reposition elsewhere, either this evening or first thing tomorrow morning.

I think that's always an advantage in booking an inclusive tour flight with the operator's own airline. They will usually get you there and home afterwards even if it's a day late when weather intervenes.

My wife and I have flown on TUI Lakes and Mountains holidays in the past and the carrier has been easyJet. Even in peak summer easyJet has been known to cancel the odd flight when there was no weather or industrial action problem (sometimes because of staffing issues). I was always a little uneasy on the day of departure even though I'd get my money back for the holiday if easyJet cancelled the flight as my contract was with TUI and they chose the carrier.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
