According to FR24 the following flights diverted in on Sunday 11th December:

From Gatwick

From Stansted

Were the times on the left the scheduled arrival times at STN? If anything arrived after midnight at MAN, would that show on the above or on today's
listing if it was due in STN before midnight?

Anyway, there's a correction to my list (as well as the typo). Apparently, the 2 x easyjets due to come to MAN got into LGW when it reopened.
Still a decent haul but not into double figures.

Correct the lefthand column was the scheduled arrival into STN. The report is only for flights due to arrive on Sunday.

I'll try to look, in future, to include the ATA at MAN.

Time now to switch off aviation mode and activate "chef" mode!

Then I'm puzzled about the 2 easyjets. However, having just checked on FR24 for the flight history, U28202 from Milan and U28232 from Pisa are both shown as diverted to MAN.

I was aware of the LBA diversion so, as you were, back to 11 diversions.

I'm aware of ten flights (including one executive jet) diverting away this morning. Virgin Atlantic (x2?), Aer Lingus UK (x2), Qatar Airways and Etihad Airways positioned back later. Cathay Pacific (LHR) did not come back so far. An Emirates A380 went to Birmingham and did not position back. A Ryanair B738 diverted to LPL and operated direct to Rome from there. It looks like exec jet VP-CZA remains at LPL.

In addition to the above, a large number of short-haul flights were cancelled arriving and departing. Scottie Dog's daily movement stats will probably offer a more complete picture when posted.

My in-laws up at Saddleworth say there's been snow there too. Very little if anything at all further to the east.

Thank you EGCC_MAN for the information, it's a shame that none of our MAN correspondents thought to inform the rest of the forum members what was happening.
As I have previously posted, I like to be in formed of what is happening (airline wise) around the country so read all forums.

Regrettably I was actually out socialising today and so was otherwise occupied!

Tomorrow I'll capture the daily data first thing but then, regrettably I'll be at a hospital appointment, so it'll be the late afternoon/evening before I can actually sort the data into a useful format.

It seemed to vary as I live in Stockport and we had about half inch whilst I think it was worse at airport and
a lot less the further east as there was very little in Ashton at lunch time

I guess that most of the Manchester contingent are not on the spot at the crucial time. Thursday is a regular workday for most, and we all have other commitments to consider. I did manage to squeeze in afew photos but was very busy with other tasks in between. It is not realistic to keep up with the pace of developments in real time when MAN goes into meltdown mode.

MIST & FOG becoming FOG

Fortunately the fog didn't arrive and we've taken a couple of diversions from BHX this morning according to the arrivals board.
TOM 815 from BGI
EZY 191 from BFS

Add to that duo, RYR 6335 from Sofia.

Also had these..

EI3614 - BHX div
LS286 - LBA div
T39553 - LBA div
And yes, work does interfere as well has having family stay over from Thursday until today. I imagine what casued the majority of the diversions away on Thursday may have been the 2nd lot of snow that fell after 7am whilst I guess when they were ready to resume operations within a short while. Incidentally, our cul de sac is finally clear of all the snow today

A surprise visit from AI161 diverting from LHR due fog. A B788 from Delhi. Just a shame we won't be seeing their scheduled services this summer as slots were returned.

A second visitor diverting was VS222, a St Lucia-LHR arrival.

Fog was quite extensive in the Midlands and SE although STN escaped the worst. RVRs generally were within Cat3 limits but with holding delays at LHR and LGW.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
