There was no one able to handle the Air India. It's much better to refuse rather than accept an aircraft where pax could be stuck for a long time.

Swissport would have handled the air India, and given the mood at the moment with today's news, I doubt many people would have bent over backwards to pull in overtime.

Out of interest, which agent handles the airlines that did divert in - Monarch, flybe and Ryanair.

Surprised CX had to divert to BHX this morning. Was he only Cat1 for some reason, or was he given a hold and was short of fuel?

EZY 7002 apparently diverted in from LPL a little earlier but as another EZY has landed there I assume the RVR is back up to 300m or more.

Presumably we lost some of the Loganair when our RVR was below 550m. One went to LBA according to their forum. flybe only needed 300m so I think most eventually got in.

Delays finally built up at LHR and BA048 turned round north of MAN and headed for NCL.

For those of us who like to keep a note or log of diversions into MAN, how many did we actually accept today.
I think I know of 3 EZY and 1 RYR from LPL. Were there any others?

We lost quite a few more - Loganair and some flybe when the RVR dropped below 300m, and I assume a few due to holding delays. Shaheen went to BHX this evening.

In terms of showing Arr Dep at Heathrow this might be more useful than the Heathrow website itself. Rather than having to drill down on an individusl flight to check status you can see a tranche of flights at one go and ascertain there whereabouts.

Unfortunately "of course" no good today as it's overy 2000m met viz bit despite this its very useful for identifying at a glance that the first Heathrow Manchester flight today is 1535.

Cargolux CLX661 B747-8F LX-VCH operating LAX-PIK diverting to MAN due to the weather at PIK.

Some nasty fog expected for much of the South of the UK over the next two or three or four days so expect some interesting movements.

Aye. Won't be much use for me though unless they arrive before 7.30am or after 7pm! Nice 3 day week twiddling my thumbs at work. But it very rare for this kind of advance notice to be issued - I rather suspect there's a forecast out there that's not yet been revealed that's a whole pile worse!

DL10 a B763 just landing at MAN on diversion from LHR. Not sure what his problem was unless he was only Cat1, as everything else was getting in with little holding. Still, nice to get at least one. I believe there was a biz jet earlier from LTN.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
