I don't think we've got a Euro wings thread?

Anyway, thanks to LAX_LHR informing the prune forum, Euro wings will increase Manchester-Cologne to six weekly from a October, in addition to daily Ryanair operation.

Yes, just received a change notice advising that my MAN-DUS sector in July will now be operated by Air Berlin.

Many March services to/from Hamburg have already been operated by Air Berlin aircraft and crew however you won't immediately notice as they are already in full Eurowings livery

Air Berlin have quietly been working with LH Group for some time - They were operating the TXL-LHR route for them until recently with a 737 in full Air Berlin colours.

Essentially Air Berlin are returning to their routes basically LTU 2.0 operating long haul mainly from Dusseldorf and a heavily scaled back the European scheduled network including closing the Palma hub operation and have ended codeshare arrangements with American in a hope of stabilising the business.

In an interesting twist through rather than closing and parking planes they come up with the ruse of actually operating services for arch rival Lufthansa Group with a nice lump of rent from them for crew and aircraft usage !

If they can stabilise, get some money and cash flow sorted the guys in the desert may be appeased at the same time.

Is D-ASTX an AB aircraft in full EW livery as that has been operating the HAM sector recently.

Yes it is was D-ABGG transferred to AB Swiss as HB-IOY in 2010 ,returned to Germany and operated by Germania for few seasons hence the current serial, returned to Air Berlin in 2014 and transferred under the Eurowings lease arrangement just this month.

Found this German link http://biztravel.fvw.de/eurowings-winterflugplan-201718-buchbar/393/170455/4070
which contains the following paragraph:

"Ab dem grenznahen Flughafen Salzburg bietet Eurowings neue Flüge nach London-Stansted, Birmingham und Manchester an"

that can be roughly translated as

"From the bordering Salzburg airport, Eurowings offers new flights to London-Stansted, Birmingham and Manchester."

Remains to be seen if they mean connecting through Dusseldorf or Cologne or actual new non-stop service

Yep, NEW Salzburg flight
EW4388 SZG 0730 MAN 0850
EW4389 MAN 0930 SZG 1240
(Friday)
A320 operates.
EW4388 SZG 0625 MAN 0745
EW4389 MAN 0825 SZG 1135
(Monday)
A320 operates.

Begins Monday 4th December

Eurowings will reduce HAM-MAN to 6 weekly from June. Given the amount of capacity on the route as well as the larger aircraft from Eurowings, I would say MAN got off lightly really!

And considering BHX got cut altogether!

The Eurowings route to Palma has now been cancelled and will no longer operate.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
