Hi,
I am trying to find out the gate number for mt1248 from bhx to pmi.
I know they vary, but I am disabled and would like to know if it's a long walk & includes steps.
Please if you can give me any advice I would much appreciate it.

Hi Baloo,

Sorry I can't help specifically but have checked as best I can. The flight isn't until a ghastly time tomorrow morning (0605 h :coffee:!) so it would be very unusual for any airline, like in this case Thomas Cook, to announce the gate no. Nevertheless the wealth of experience on this site may find either a regular traveller with them or others, including airport employees, who could advise which part of the terminal their flights usually use and hence the possible area of your gate. I would say though that you should ring your airline today at the airport and they should eb able to help for instance in meeting and greeting you perhaps but to lay on a wheelchair if nec. etc. If they want a few quid more, let the forum know, and we could give them a bad press if the terms are outrageous. There should be equality of travel opportunities and I wouldn't want their inaction to see you concerned with whether you can physically make it to a gate or not. If they fail to impress today, you could also contact the airport since they have a 'Special Assistance' site page here

although it does appear that 48h notice mihght be required - goodness knows why in this age, so make a fuss if they try to fob you off.

Do let us know how you've got on - and have a great time in Palma once there!

Even if it says 48 hours notice is required I would contact the airport directly and plead ignorance and say it's something you weren't aware of. I am sure they will be willing to assist you.

Hope this could be of some help;

Thomas Cook Airlines use any of the gates between 40-68 on the Notherrn departure pier. Some of these are contact stands that have an airbridge attached while the others have steps for embarking which would require walking to the aircraft. The other alternative is a remote parking stand where you would be bussed to aircraft. I would agree with what others have suggested and contact the airport explaining your needs as a fair amount of walking could be required for whatever gate you are allocated.

Thank you for your replies, they are very helpful. I had already submitted a special assistance form to Thomas Cook. I will chase this up on Tuesday. We don't fly until 15th September so just getting as much sorted now.
Great Forum.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
