In light of the service that was discussed a while ago, we may as well have a thread for El Al/Sun d'Or etc

'A source close to the Israeli national airline told the Jewish Telegraph: "The plan is to have it ready by April. It’s not official. We’re still waiting to hear about slots."
El Al is understood to be firmly committed to going ahead and wants to begin flights in time for Pesach, and even as early as March.'

I think I'll keep my fingers crossed on this one - at least for the time being. Was it summer 2017 or 2018 when they had slots and then cancelled early in the year?

Isn't it about time MAN got over it's Water cannon salute fiasco some years ago and gave EL AL the honour it deserves on it's significant return to MAN.
Most other airports seem to manage this respectful tradition without incident.

Coronavirus: El Al to suspend almost all routes

El Al has announced it will phase out operations on most of its routes from March 15, amid stringent restrictions on travel to Israel.

The exceptions will be New York Newark, Toronto, London, Paris and Johannesburg. It usually flies to 40 destinations from Tel Aviv.

In the UK, the flag carrier also flies to Manchester, a route it relaunched in May last year.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
