I believe the SAA aircraft positioned in and out to Germany, but i take your point.

I can't ever remember in over fifty years of spotting, national carriers operating
football supporter charters, they don't usually have any spare aircraft available.

Another thought SAA I believe are short of abit of cash, maybe was easy picking for them.

The is a BMI service due in at 1600 from London Stansted, thinking this has something to do with a sporting event.

It might be for the West Ham United party who play Liverpool in the Premier League tomorrow (Sunday) lunchtime.

There is a post in the Dried Fruit today saying that Liverpool FC flew from LPL to EMA yesterday for their match at Leicester City today. If football clubs go on like this they'll be sending buggies to take their players to the toilet.

That just shows that there is too much money in football. What will fans think of it when they struggle to get to matches?

Football related charters today operated by Aigle Azur and Air Caraibes A330 and A350 . 2 of each...they came this morning due to go back to Orly around 1800.

There is a Titan Airways flight advertised as departing at 12.00 noon tomorrow to Naples. I'm guessing it's sports related.

I passed through the airport in Sunday and there seemed to be quite a lot of young sporty Italians around the terminal. Of course could be unrelated !

No doubt in connection with Napoli v Liverpool (the match is at Napoli) in the European Champions League this Wednesday.

Players from Red Star Belgrade struggled to land in Liverpool today during extremely high winds at the airport.

The chartered flight, that landed at Liverpool John Lennon Airport shortly after 12pm today, battled the adverse weather conditions to land the team safely.

Incredible footage, taken at the airport, shows how a skillful pilot managed to land the Air Serbia flight despite the unexpected wind.
In the video clip, posted by The Aviators, captures the moment the plane approaches the runway and attempts to land.

The plane can be seen to be moved by the wind before tilting from side to side.

Thank goodness the aircraft landed safely. My thoughts went back 60 years to the Manchester United disaster at Munich that occured when the team was returning from a match at Red Star Belgrade.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
