More major disruption today at Amsterdam Schipol because of weather - what a dreadful winter it's been there.

So far as BRS is concerned KL 1046 departed normally for AMS at 0615.

Since then KL 1049/1050 (0835/0905); KL 1051/1053 (1315/1345); KL 1053/1054 (1650/1720) have all been cancelled. No news yet on KL 1057 due 2145.

easyJet EZY 6161 departed as normal for AMS at 0750 but the return EZY 6162 is shown with expected arrival at 1440, 3 hours 40 minutes late. There is no current news of this evenings easyJet rotation to AMS (EZY 6167/6168).

Re previous post, the evening easyJet rotation to AMS did operate as did the last KL arrival of the day (KL 1057) which overnights at BRS.

easyJet cancelled the Rome and Pisa rotations today - industrial action in Italy seems to be the reason.

easyJet Funchal

BRS website arrivals page showing EZY9246 due at 1505 from Funchal yesterday is now arriving at 1315 today.

Technical problem with aircraft or perhaps weather-related in Madeira?

It looked like they cancelled todays flight and grouped it with yesterdays cancelled according to the arrival board on brs website. I wonder if enough room on the aircraft to operate both flights togeather.

There is no flight scheduled for Thursdays. The flights operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays all as EZY 6245 outbound and EZY 6246 inbound.

Earlier today the BRS website arrivals board was showing EZY 6246 from yesterday due at 1315 today. It's now showing it as cancelled but also shows EZY 9246 as scheduled to arrive at 1115; however there is no indication that it has yet arrived - five hours later! 9246 is not a regular fight number at BRS. I assume it's been given to the flight bringing back yesterday's passengers in place of flight number 6246. It's certainly a bit confusing for anyone looking to meet a passenger from the flight.

I wonder what FNC has got against EasyJet. Last week there was problems, and it looks like problems this week as well according to the arrival board. This weeks flight ezy6246 is showing delayed on arrival board Thursday morning.I don't know what this weeks cause of delay is about.

Madeira is notorious as a difficult place to land due to frequent windy conditions. Flights can be u diverted all the way to Lisbon . Par for the course there.

Almost by default we are probably all guilty of assuming the weather is only ever bad here in the UK. The Madeira Islands, the Canary Islands as with many other European airports suffer from bad weather sufficiently to cause diversions and delays. Some airports suffer from bad weather more frequently than might think.

When we flew LBA FNC last May we landed ok but the EZY following had to go round and land at second time. Wind shear on approach can be bad.

EZY 6002 that was due BRS at 1455 from Keflavik is shown as cancelled on the BRS website arrivals page. The 0815 outbound EZY 6001 is shown as departed (BRS never shows the actual time of departure on its website departures page). A problem at KEF with the aircraft or crew or weather?

Yesterdays KEF outbound was cancelled. No flights for a week. The passengers advised that they will get refunds etc. However the bigger problem is those stranded in Keflavik have been told no flights until next week??!!!!

Thanks for that, kraktoa. Yet another inaccurate entry on the BRS arrivals/departures website if that's the case - we discussed this subject a few weeks ago on F4A. Yesterday EZY 6001 to KEF at 0815 was shown as 'Departed'.

Addendum 1120 12 Feb 18

KEF seems to be open at the moment with flights arriving and departing. easyJet operates BRS-KEF 3 x weekly this time of the year - Sun, Tue and Thurs. Both Tuesday's inbound and outbound are shown as sold out but there is availability for Thursday and Sunday in the booking engine.

EZY 6001 to KEF
The outbound yesterday was NOT cancelled. The aircraft did depart, flew all the way to KEF, held a number of times, and then diverted to GLA. It then picked up fuel and headed back to BRS with the passengers it departed with. No wonder all the systems were confused!
This link should take you to the route it flew, however if not, have a look on FR24 for the easyJet A320 OE-IVD and see yesterdays BRS-KEF trip diverted to GLA - https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/oe-ivd#10655fdd

Ah thats the reason why all passengers were in th3 departures hall getting refunds for their duty free purchases.

I had assumed they had not taken off.

The mid day ORK/BRS Stobart air diverted to CWL. Was this weather related, the aircraft was ATR 72 EI FAT

According to a poster on another forum it was because of the winds at BRS.

BRS website arrivals page also shows FR 7227 from Krakow due 0840 as 'diverted' with the return to KRK listed as 'by road'. Not all the way to Krakow I assume.

BRS website also shows EZY 6052 due from Malaga at 1240 as 'diverted'.

Neither the Ryanair nor the easyJet diversionary airports are shown. FR24 is not particularly helpful either with these.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
