Cargo Air B737-405(SF) LZ-CGV positioned from Leipzig Monday lunchtime to cover duties vice the West Altantic B737-400 between EXT and EMA.
Is that for the Royal Mail?

Looking at the CAA stats table 13.2 shows that EXT handled zero freight in 2018 and 2019, with 7 tonnes in 2017.

Yes, that's for Royal Mail.

Interesting figures recorded by the CAA, which obviously are not anything like a true reflection of actual total tonnage handled at EXT, if the five weekly Royal Mail flights are included.

Would be interesting to know what criteria the CAA work too, unless someone there has dropped a major faux-pas....

Thank you.

I should have made myself clearer. Mail is shown in a different CAA table - 16.2

It shows that in 2019 EXT handled 3,363 tonnes of mail. It has been a fairly stable annual tonnage over the past five years - just either side of 3,500 tonnes each year.

A lot of the once dense Royal Mail aviation network was reduced about ten years or so ago leaving some formerly busy Royal Mail airports with nothing. A look at the 2019 mail tonnage for each UK airport that still has such a presence gives the following result (all figures relate to tonnes).

Gatwick 7,640
Heathrow 85,423
London City 759
Luton 801
Aberdeen 1,146
Belfast Int 11,538
Benbecula 24
Birmingham 143
East Midlands 22,041
Edinburgh 22,968
Exeter 3,363
Glasgow 34
Inverness 129
Islay 10
Isles of Scilly (St Marys) 195
Kirkwall 21
Lands End (St Just) 201
Manchester 2,364
Newcastle 3
Prestwick 17
Southampton 37
Stornoway 88
Tiree 41

A much nicer looking departure board today at EXT:

BHD - Aer Lingus Regional (Stobart Air) - AT72 (EI-FMJ)
EDI - Loganair - E145 (G-SAJC)
GLA - Loganair - E145 (G-SAJF)
NCL - Loganair - E145 (G-SAJI)

The aer lingus diverted into BHX due medical emergency. There iis confusion weather it carried onto Exeter or returned to BHD,with pax going to Exeter on a coach.

It continued to Exeter after. Then operated the flight as normal to Belfast just with a delay.

I would of thought passengers would be on the plane to continue to Exeter as the airline would have to pay costs for the transport there.

Sunday 19th December 2021 two Ryanair flights for BRS diverted into EXT this afternoon -
FR7227 KRK-BRS operated by B737 EI-EFI
FR8249 FAO-BRS operated by B737 EI-EMD

Both flights continued on from EXT to BRS shortly after 17.15 hrs this afternoon. Reason for diversions to EXT unknown.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
