Well first the good news US flights Boston start 23rd March. I was very suprised as I assumed it would be May.

Now the more awkward stuff. If you put in Google "Thomas Cook Boston flights" it shows a page of regional airports and prices. Fantastic as these are all Flybe connectors Aberdeen Inverness Exeter etc. But when you try to then follow it through with an booking eg Aberdeen, you get a message "not a destination airport".

I cleared the form and reinput
Dep airport Aberdeen
Arr airport Boston
23rd March

Can anybody play around and see if you can book from a UK regional to Boston on the TCX site ?

Secondly not all UK airports show , example IOM and Southampton despite being within the first wave of arrivals same as Aberdeen etc.

Would not every airport in the first Flybe wave be included .?

Thirdly. first flght out Manchester is 23rd March so there must be a return flight 23rd or early hours 24th. I have put these in on the jetblue website but you are punted via Dublin with EI. Our direct does not show.

If it's a codeshare should this appear ?

Ideas on a postcard for those who remember such things....

Ps had a reply from Jet Blue re suggestion that a a codeshare was in place but not visible on their own web site. Here is the reply

"Under the current terms of our partnership, tickets are only sold by Thomas Cook or by travel agents. Our website only shows possible itineraries that can be booked directly with us. "

So presumably you can book Thomas Cook

Manchester - Albany ( via Boston ) TCX
but clearly not
Albany - Manchester in reverse

Seems odd but I'm not in the industry so no idea.

US booking are via the Condor.com US site (The reason for the DE codes)

jetBlue don't sell TCX/CFG flights however TCX/CFG are selling interlines on jetBlue flights beyond JFK and BOS to select destinations. The agreement does not appear to reciprocal.

As for why you can't book to/from Albany connecting to a jetBlue flight at either JFK or Logan perhaps its because there are no flights to sell !

jetBlue only fly to Orlando and Fort Lauderdale from Albany (NYC).

Similarly this side of the Atlantic the arrangement with Flybe is much the same - Flybe aren't selling TCX/CFG services as its just an interline and as for iOM and SOU well perhaps TCX/CFG don't see these as viable markets .

BTW TCX/CFG also interline with Lufthansa allowing connections between the Manchester and Frankfurt hubs and associated flights at each end.

These are simple commercial interlines and not alliance codeshares or joint ventures.

Well despite its extensive network I clearly picked a REGIONAL airport not connected to BOS. ... should have checked Doh !

But you have answered the question.

Clearly this isn't a full codeshare certainly in the sense that I understand it. I was rather "hoping" for 100% seamless connectivity from "any point" on the Jetblue network to Manchester.

Presumably commercials are at play ?

Regards Flybe TCX in the other direction I did bring this to the attention of TCX customer care. They indicated it was indeed a technical glitch.

That suggests that all Flybe routes that roll into Manchester where the timing and day of operation coincide with a TCX Flight will be updated.

Thomas Cook have announced a new route for 2018 (yes, the date is right).

Santa Clara, Cuba, begins at the end of May in 2018:

MT2620 MAN 1030 SNU 1510
MT2621 SNU 1710 MAN 0650

After Mauritius this winter, I hope this isn't a sign of Thomas Cook loosing focus and going after Thomson, as surely this is no coincidence mirroring 2 of Thomsons latest long haul routes from MAN?

JFK will now run as a year round route, but with just 1 weekly flight on Mondays during the depths of the winter. Helps keep a market presence I suppose. Looks like Miami could be made all winter too, as the TCX timetable has Miami showing in Feb as an example, but then an error when you try and select it.

Cape Town supposedly bookable soon, starts Wed 20th December 2 weekly.

Mauritius already known about.

Great news re: Cape Town. I may be flying that route. MIA would be great to have year round.

Some mutter on PPrune, apparently Cape Town is to show it has not stalled tomorrow with 1 weekly starting from January 2018.

Apparently it was showing in Amadeus, but I doubt if it's actually bookable yet however I don't know for definite.

According to a poster on Skyscraper City the Cape Town is twice weekly - depart Wednesday & Saturday 2230 returning 0030 (presumably on Friday & Tuesday). Still being stated as effective 10th January 2018.

The timings according to LAX_LHR on 'dried fruit':
MT3520 MAN 2230 CPT 1235 +1 36
MT3521 CPT 1435 MAN 0055 +1 47

Great news.

What I think it *could* look like in the future:
View attachment 4372
Additions of Sanya, Phuket, Bangkok, Rio de Janeiro, San Diego and Tampa. Thoughts on these and possibly Colombo and Windhoek also?

Much more likely to be a return to Salvador rather than Rio if ever a South American city tried again.
Interestingly Condor are using a TCX 76W from FRA to SSA right this minute.

With the total collapse of Venezuela Porlamar isn't coming back any time soon imho.

I wouldn't think BKK on TCX either, but maybe CMB and a return of Male being more likely imho.

The first season CPT is going to be pretty short one expects what three months tops.

The CPT story has been the same with Gatwick also - extremely short season to begin with.

From memory, CPT is supported by a cruise contract. It may be that TCX are dipping their toe in the water knowing that the risk of taking on a new route is mitigated by this guaranteed business.

The Mauritius timings - not sure if they have been posted:
MT 3512 MAN 2230 MRU 1405 +1 332
MT 3513 MRU 1605 MAN 0035 +1 332

Looks very similar to the CPT timings.

Heads Up!

i must be a lunatic. Friday 25th Sept will see me doing a daytrip that involves me leaving my flat in Manchester at 1am and not getting back home until after midnight. All because I'm doing a Loch Ness and Scottish Highlands trip.... out of Glasgow
For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
