Going west, San Diego, Tampa and Reno remain targets,
San Diego i could see and maybe Tampa but i would be very surprised if they did Reno especially as they do Las Vegas and having been to Reno a couple of times and to Vegas, to me it's just a less glamorous version of Vegas and i'd choose Vegas over the 2 any day. Though Reno is in driving range of San Francisco whereas I think Vegas is a pretty long drive from LA so there could be a possibility of a 2 centre holiday package with San Francisco?

The thing with Reno is that it is good for the Tahoe ski area, and they were going to launch LGW-RNO a few years ago but then the lack of suitable US customs meant the flight was shelved.

The addition of USPBC at MAN means the flight can run.

Tahoe ski area
Of course i forgot about Lake Tahoe! Another airport that could serve the Lake Tahoe would be Sacramento but apart from flights to Mexico neither airports gets any international flights.

Well, the USPBC can open a whole host of destinations that are ideal for TCX.

Is Canada in the same customs area to the US I.e. Would USPBC work for Toronto, Vancouver etc?

I've got a feeling no, but that would open a lot of possibilities.

I see the next destinations for TCX as:
Cape Town
Mauritius
San Diego

These were the destinations on the MEN hit list and have been rumoured for a while. USPBC and the A321 neo LR could open a whole host of options for MAN. I wish VS would operate YYZ/YVR from MAN so we finally have a full service to Canada but I see this as unlikely. Besides TCX, I can see the market being Rouge and TS for a long time.

The next destinations are Cape Town, Mauritius and Sanya.

VS won't do MAN-Canada, they can't make it work from LHR which is much larger market, and also, it doesn't fit into the Delta strategy

I understand that, I did state, despite my hopes it would be unlikely. It won't happen with the DL strategy but it doesn't mean from MAN it could not work. London was a much larger market, but it is also served by four carriers (TS, WS, AC and BA). AC offer multiple flights a day to YYC, YVR, YUL, YYZ and YHZ/YYT, BA to YYZ, YVR, YUL and YYC and TS to YYZ, YYC, YVR and WS to YWG, YEG, YYC, YVR and YYZ. VS tried to start flights against all of these carriers to YVR (I know WS didn't operate to LGW at this time) with no valuable partner in Canada for onward connections and no real connections from LHR - it was obvious it wouldn't work. From MAN, we only have one carrier to YVR and that is TS with 3-3-3 in economy on a 332. VS have a very different business strategy and superior product. I think it could work from MAN but VS won't operate it. If they operate to any destination out of the USA from MAN, it would most likely be JNB, however as you state, TCX have got the ball rolling in South Africa.

I don't think they are reliable, as IT won't be operating at that frequency at all.

It will be interesting to see why those frequencies keep appearing in OAG?

They're pretty accurate for AA/UA/DL stuff as well as all the minor alterations that go unannounced, yet MT stuff seems to get regularly over stated.

What is the MAN fleet next summer?
5x332
1x333
2x763
4x321
2x320 (lease)
1x753 (Condor ops) is there a 2nd planned?

Plus upto 3x753 transferred from Condor. Not heard whether they're all coming to MAN or not?

It should be 7 A330

(MDBD/TCXA/TCXB/MLJL/TCXD(new)/OMYT/VKF)

LGW/STN/GLA/BFS will see CHTZ/TQZ/TCXC

MAN and the other bases will also share the air tanker too

Don't think there is a TCXA. But you missed out an OY-VK? as there should be 2 of these. Don't recognise TQZ either?

Any ideas on short haul?

Sorry your right, TCXA wasn't registered in the end.

OY-VKF is the regular A333 and on looking, again your right, as OY-VKH is joining it's sister ship.

CS-TFZ is the other A330, I mis typed.

Just noticed that HOG and CCC which were both bookable for summer 2017 from MAN and LGW are no longer bookable passed April 2017.They are however both still showing in the timetable

Canadian Affair/Air Transat are the same company. Having used them this summer to Toronto and from Vancouver to Manchester, I'd say they are very similar to what Thomas Cook offer.

OY-VKF is a 332, currently based at MAN.

Is the 333 OY-VKH being MAN based then? If so, what routes will it operate on as surely this will offer more capacity? Perhaps BOS or JFK would be ideal.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
