Newcastle International Airport is set to open a second Starbucks franchise in the Airport departure lounge, following the success of the first shop within the terminal check-in area that opened earlier this year.

As a trusted Starbucks partner, the Airport’s food and beverage partner SSP, a leading operator of food and beverage outlets in travel locations worldwide, will operate the second coffeehouse and provide passengers with Starbucks highest standards of customer service.

Customers visiting the new store will be able to choose from a range of beverages and food available from Starbucks Holiday menu, now back at Starbucks stores nationwide. This includes returning fan favourites Toffee Nut Latte, Gingerbread Latte, Eggnog Latte and Caramel Waffle and the brand-new Hazelnut Crunch Hot Chocolate. Hungry customers are invited to enjoy the new Holiday Ham Sub Roll, Cheese Twist and Caramel Waffle Muffin. Starbucks® UK proudly serves a broad range of dairy alternative options for free.

The brand-new coffee house is set to open in mid-December and will accommodate over 40 passengers. It will offer a contemporary design and provide customers the opportunity to enjoy a handcrafted cup of barista coffee, relax with comfortable seating and enjoy free wi-fi and charging facilities.

Dean Ward, Director of Commercial at Newcastle International Airport, said: “Following the success of our landside store, we are delighted to announce the opening of a second Starbucks at Newcastle International Airport.

“This expansion, in collaboration with SSP, is part of a significant investment programme currently underway at the Airport, which will see our food and beverage provisions in the departure lounge extended and modernised over the next 12 months.

“The new airside coffeehouse will further enhance the passenger experience, and customers can expect to see a vibrant, contemporary design, as well as all their favourite beverages, food and merchandise.”

Richard Attwood, Business Development Director Air at SSP, said; “We’re delighted to be part of this impressive development programme at one of the UK’s most important airports. As long-term partners of Newcastle International Airport, we’re looking forward to continuing our successful relationship and to welcoming customers at this great new store.”

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
