Hope someone may be able to help me, my only relevant history for joining the Forum is that I hold a PPL ( Private Pilots Licence valid in the USA), but I am reaching out in desparation to try and get an answer that several calls to Manchester Customer Sertvices, Taxi companies and other organisations at the airport have drawn a complete blank.

Here's my problem. I undestand that Taxi's, Private Hire and other commercial service providers now have to drop their passengers at Terminal 2 LOWER LEVEL, rather than the previous level.

My problem is that I am going to T2 on Friday by Taxi, and will have THREE large suitcases with me. Is anyone aware if there are Bag Carts/Trolleys in the immediate area of the new T2 LOWER LEVEL? As a Senior of greatly advanced years, I view with horror the prospect of finding no Carts/Trolley Port in the area, as it would be very difficult, if not impossible to move the suitcases by my own efforts.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
Last time I was on the lower level of T2 (a few weeks ago) there were trolleys available but not where the taxis drop you off, there are near the arrivals exits around 100 yards walk away. There are lifts nearby to the check in but I appreciate it would be difficult to navigate upstairs with three large suitcases.

If your on social media, I advise contacting the airport to ask, they are usually pretty responsive via X or Instagram for example. Or maybe even your airline?

Wishing you the best of luck, but please do come back and let us know the outcome.

As mentioned above about 100 yards. Maybe ask driver if they can stay with cases for a few minutes. You may get lucky and see a trolley abandoned in the drop off area. Make sure you have a £ coin handy. Also immediately outside between car park and terminal are the lanes where they line them up ready to put back in terminal,.just take one out of there, if a trolley collector says anything just say you thought they were for the public to use.

I’m putting together an email in general about this state of affairs with regards to the drop off situation at T2 and will also include this example.
There’s of course no guarantees, but I hope it changes something!

Maybe also point out their website only mentions the “convenient” upper level drop off too!

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
