[textarea]ABTA: stranded passengers back this week
Britons stranded abroad by the volcanic ash cloud should by home by the end of the week, the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) has said. About 100,000 holidaymakers were brought back over the weekend after UK airspace reopened last week, but ABTA said that on Sunday there were about 35,000 Britons yet to board flights in airports around the world.
An ABTA spokeswoman said: ‘The size and scale of the suspension meant that everybody couldn't be brought back immediately. The vast majority will be back by the end of the week.’
