Airport now has a press release on its website regarding the extra flights to Kos and Dalaman this summer.

https://www.bristolairport.co.uk/ab...1/tui-adds-thousands-of-seats-for-summer-2018

The press release mentions new summer routes to Hurghada and Skiathos (new for TUI that is as Thomas Cook also operates to Skiathos and will begin a Hurghada itself this summer) but doesn't mention Punta Cana which is still on the TUI website as operating once weekly.

Interestingly it doesn't take a four-week break in June/July as Sanford and Cancun do when the aircraft is used in Scotland where the long school holidays are much earlier than in England and Wales.

Additional flights to Kos and Dalaman for South-West holidaymakers
Created: 9th Jan 2018

TUI the UK’s largest holiday brand, has today announced it has added an additional weekly flight to the popular Greek island of Kos and Turkish destination of Dalaman for summer 2018 operating out of Bristol Airport.

TUI adds thousands of seats for summer 2018 from Bristol Airport.

Holidaymakers from the South West will now have even more choice when it comes to booking a holiday to Kos and Dalaman, with TUI adding a Sunday flight to the summer flying programme to The Turkish destination and a Saturday flight to the Greek island. Flights start in May 2018 and will now operate twice a week to both Kos and Dalaman.

The decision to add more flights is part of the holiday company’s plans to offer as much choice as possible, ensuring customers across the UK can fly from their local airport and stay at the best hotels such as the 5T TUI Sensimar Palazzo del Mar in Kos or the 4T TUI Family Life Tropical Resort, Dalaman.

As well as the additional flights to Kos and Dalaman residents from in and around Bristol now have a wider choice of destinations to choose from when booking their holidays this summer with new routes to Hurghada in Egypt and Skiathos in Greece already on sale.

Karen Switzer, Director of Aviation Planning for TUI UK & Ireland, said:

“We are delighted to be expanding our programme from Bristol Airport for summer 2018. We have added a Sunday flight to Dalaman and a Saturday flight to Kos meaning we now fly twice a week to both destinations from this local airport. These additional flights mean that customers can now book 10 and 11 night holidays adding even more choice when deciding how long to go away for. In total we have 38 destinations for customers to choose from when booking their holidays from Bristol Airport. Holidaymakers in the South West will now have wider access than ever before to our diverse collection of destinations and hotel concepts.”

Nigel Scott, Business Development Director, Bristol Airport said:

“We are delighted with TUI’s continued route expansion from Bristol Airport adding even more flexibility and choice of exciting destinations to passengers in the South West and Wales region.”

If I was in the airport press office I'd do Punta Cana as a separate article. Make it about all the Dreamliner routes.

No news of Tunisia yet?

Is it too late for any airline now to announce Tunsia charters for 2018 from Bristol?

I can't see them leaving a spare aircraft sitting around on a Friday tho so it's watch this space what could fill the gap. Incidentally a quick look at ski 18/19 calls for 4 departures on sat am - cmf gva ver and slz

This winter TOM flights are operating the first three am Saturdays with Salzburg early afternoon. All 757 except Chambery which is a 738.

Does anyone know how I could find out which flights are operated by the 757 and which by the 737 this summer please

In case it is of any interest; TUI has based 2x B757-200s at BRS this winter.
Both aircraft are needed from Thursday to Sunday at this time of the year, with only one aircraft needed Monday-Wednesday. This means sometimes one aircraft positions out of BRS to MAN or LGW to operate other schedules or to LTN for maintenance.
The BRS schedule is below:
All aircraft below are B752.

Monday:
No flights

Tuesday:
Aircraft 1: BRS-TFS-BRS

Wednesday:
No flights

Thursday:
Aircraft 1: BRS-LPA-BRS

Aircraft 2: BRS-ACE-BRS

Friday:
Aircraft 1: BRS-SID-BRS

Aircraft 2:
BRS-TFS-BRS

Saturday:
Aircraft 1: BRS-VRN-BRS-FUE-BRS

Aircraft 2:
BRS-GVA-BRS-SZG-BRS

Sunday:
Aircraft 1: BRS-TRN-BRS

Aircraft 2:
BRS-AGP-BRS

Saturday based B738
On every Friday evening (during the ski season) the EXT based B738 positions to BRS to operate the early Saturday morning BRS-CMF flight. The aircraft then operates to EXT, back to CMF, and finally back to BRS where it stays until Sunday mornings when it positions back to EXT. The schedule is below:

Friday: EXT-TFS-EXT-BRS
Saturday: BRS-CMF-EXT-CMF-BRS
Sunday: BRS-EXT-ACE-EXT

Thank you for that, Severn. The EXT 738 diagram seems a little odd. On the face of it EXT-CMF-BRS-CMF-EXT would make more sense. It would save two positioning flights, or have I missed something?

Does Exeter shut the runway at night.?

I think it's closed at night this winter - possibly only at weekends - for resurfacing.

Is this the first winter TUI not doing FNC on a Monday

There haven't been any charter flights from anyone to Funchal, winter or summer, for many years. Looking back at CAA stats the last time was in 2008. easyJet had started its service a year or two before that. I don't know whether that was a reason for the charter flights ceasing.

I remember flying there from BRS in the mid 1990s with First Choice (A320), now part of TUI of course.

FNC was stopped that far back. Oh well brain getting older quicker than body,or showing my age when they were operating.

I know the feeling well.:D

I was at Weston today and on the sea front I saw a digital TUI advert for Madeira from Bristol. I was half expecting to see Funchal added to the TUI destination list when I got back home but a test booking revealed they use easyJet.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
