Industrial action air traffic controllers at Marseille on the 12th and 13t of may. Airlines been advised to cancel flights on these 2 days.
Back to normal with strikes as summer flight programmes in operation.
BRS has an easyJet Marseille rotation tomorrow (12th) but none on the 13th.

BM 1867 to Dusseldorf at 1720 and return BM 1868 due BRS 2100 cancelled
EI 3286 from Dublin due BRS 1845 and return EI 3287 to Dublin at 1910 cancelled

Well the MRS is still showing as operating so if it is going to be cancelled the boards not showing it. I just wonder if EasyJet will try and operate the flight and cancel at the last moment,or the boards not keeping up with information. I will say the boards are not to be trusted too much with flight details etc.
We shall know later what happens.

Flight radar is saying that the TUI Cancun is delayed until 18.35 and Marseille is still scheduled to operate.

FR24 shows TOM 644 to Cancun departed at 0956 and the BRS website merely says 'departed' which is all it ever does say with departed flights.

The fact that it doesn't appear to be waiting around until 1835 is a positive thing; the fact that it appears to have gone via MAN again not so positive.

Addendum

TOM 644 departed MAN at 1136 with a current eta 105 minutes after the BRS sta.

There is a tech fault with the aircraft.Dont know what the fault is but it did not stop it flying to Man but it did affect flying over the pond.

If that's the case perhaps it called at MAN for engineering reasons this week.

If spares required they would be there as with engineers and also if need to change aircraft then might be easier to change over than BRS. If aircraft change the BRS pax would not have to wait for the replacement to turn up,it makes sense to do that.

The BY644 Cancun left Manchester at 11.36. I looked on FR24 and not long gone over Bermuda so well on way.

Aircraft currently about 50 minutes from landing at Cancun. Scheduled time of arrival 1315 local, eta currently 1524 local.

Scheduled departure time is 1600 local but FR24 is now showing etd of 1728. Scheduled arrival time at BRS is 0645 tomorrow with BRS website showing eta of 0805.

Our son and his wife are coming back on this TOM 644. At least they didn't have to go via MAN on the outbound two weeks ago.

Sunday 13th May
BM1885 to CDG cancelled as is the BM1886 from CDG it looks as though they are short of an airframe. Currently 4 BM’s on the ground but 5 needed for the schedule. Maybe one has gone tech somewhere.

I often think why do airlines put pressure on their selves by running things close to the bone.I feel sorry for the pax that have booked and when it goes wrong always the pax that suffer.Air lines do suffer every time there is some thing cancelled for what ever reason, but they don't seem to worry about that. It makes the mind boggle as for reasons we don't get the true answer every time.

bmi regional's BRS-HAM-BRS also cancelled and the return working of the evening MUC is shown as cancelled too (the outbound is shown as operating).

This long-running saga of bmi regional cancelled flights doesn't seem to have an end in sight. It's a great shame because, although bmi regional fares are generally on the expensive side, their product was highly praised in the initial year or so of its independent life.

I would never take the chance of booking with them until they mend their ways.

easyJet cancelled one of its four BRS-EDI-BRS rotations today too.

There must be hundreds of pax stuck all round Europe,as they seem to fly to where ever and the return cancelled.

Id imagine that they'd have to get them back somehow via another route or airport. Many will be codeshare pax for other airlines so they'll have to get their passengers back. As someone who uses a hub to get to the US and back I'd seriously never consider using an airline that uses BMI for one of the legs as they just seem to unreliable. Yes aircraft go tech and there are weather related problems but to me it seems more than that with BMI.

A superb performance by bmi regional today - only the morning ABZ rotation cancelled.

I wonder how long the airport will like to be associated with an airline that has such a terrible record of cancellations. It’s not great. I wonder if the vanished tomorrow how hard it really would be to fill their slots. Eurowings I’m sure could pick up the German routes.. I’m not impressed with them or the model they offer really.

After ba and lufthansa left it took many years to recover the likes of routes that bmi now operate. Any replacement would not offer the choice of flights that bmi offers. Remember the once daily ezy to cdg ?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
