Verona

From today the Saturday Verona seems to have reverted to a Neos B738 which has been the carrier in recent summers. TUI used one of their B738s for the first couple of weeks this month. Mayfly is showing Neos today and next Saturday so presumably it will continue for the rest of the summer.

Also a Freebird A320 Dalaman rotation begins tomorrow, it seems for TUI.

So despite basing a fourth aircraft at BRS this summer TUI still has need of third party carriers to complete its weekly schedule.

Cancun just landed into a dull and rain soaked airport at Lulsgate at 9.05 am. 2 hrs 20 mins late

The TUI Cancun flight path changed to divert to Man then changed to BHX then changed again to a BRS landing..If the flight plan was logged like this,it sure was a long way round to land in BRS.

Cancun

One bit of good news amongst the recent cancellations at BRS (not involving TUI) is that the Cancun flight did not call at MAN this morning.

If that was last Thursday I was out walking the combes and saw the take-off to Punta Cana from further down Winters Lane (the narrow road that winds it way around the western end of the airfield). The first easyJet on stand the taxiing 787 passes is the delayed easyJet A320 to Copenhagen that one of our grandsons and his mates were on for a stag do. Hopefully, they behaved better than the group on the cancelled easyJet to Prague the following evening.

My next door neighbour and his partner went to Punta Cana yesterday.Got to the desk to book in and the flight was full with every seat taken. I don't know how they sorted it but he did get on the flight after TUI sorted it. It is good to know the service is well loaded but not so good when more seats sold than on the plane. Can only think there must be a few with flight only.I shant find out how they sorted till he gets back.

I didn't know that TUI overbooks. I believe that easyJet does at times. Not sure about Ryanair; I have a feeling I read that they don't.

Pretty sure TUI are similar to airlines like Cook Jet2 etc do not overbook so I assume some sort of mix up at least they got it sorted.
Ryanair do not overbook but if you don't turn up or are late they keep your money.

According to FR24 the Cancun 09.20 departure is delayed till 17.00. If that's correct then both Severnside airports may well have 787s on the ground at the same time.

BRS website showing 'gate closed'.

Cancun is on its way and it looks as tho it's non stop
I saw it turning left over my house and thought it might be MAN-bound but FR24 shows it between Llanelli and Tenby currently so, as you say, it looks as though MAN is avoided. In recent weeks the non-stop track has seen it turn right off 09 (the active runway this morning) and head out over Devon and Cornwall.

Must be some of mix up. TUI definitely don't overbook. Thomas Cook do now but only on certain routes.
Could be something like a booking error, broken seat or a weight issue that hasn't been explained very well by the check in staff. Or if it was explained as 'No seats left rather than overbooked it could be a systems error that had blocked a seat that was actually available.

He got on the flight,i don't know how they sorted it. I shant find any thing out till he gets back home here. I will sure ask what the problem wasand how TUI sorted it.
This morning flight to CUN G TUIH is well over the pond with the BHX to PUJ not far behind.

Won't that happen on Thursday and Sunday mornings with the Qatar 787 on the ground at CWL? The TUI 787 arrives at BRS from Cape Verde at 0105 on Thursdays and remains until 1130 when it departs for Punta Cana. On Sundays it arrives from Cancun at 0645 and departs to NCL at 0925 on a positioning flight.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
