Here is the image of the banners mentioned yesterday.

At the bottom it mentions the Highwayman Bar & Grill as one of the companies sponsoring the banners.

There is wealthy resident living nearby and if they join this movement as they will if there is ever a spur to the airport then they will back a huge campaign no doubt against that.

It amases me as this will bring in jobs into the community and hopefully benefit the cargo side of the airports business but I guess for any projects there will always be nimbys.

I am surprised the highwaymen would object to anything meaning the airport could grow as their main source of income seems to come from car parking.

2000 proposed jobs would be very good ( even half that number) , unfortunately the owner of the property where the sign is situated has a hell of a lot of financial and political clout, but to display this sign must mean there is a good chance this may be a serious opportunity to improve the footprint of the airport and its environment.

They may be worried that another off site parking company may setup there.

To be fair, the farmer, Mr Jenkins, I 100% understand him protesting the move. Anyone else, other than being a nimby, I don't get it. It's not like it's unspoilt woodland or something, it's farmed fields next to an airport... if there are going to be any developments in the Vale, surely this is the place!

2k jobs, while that's an ambitious number, just taking 1.5k jobs... that is 500,000 extra journeys to the airport area every year (1,000,000 if you count the return). In addition to the airport passengers, this could really help the financial viability and ridership of public transport as well as a case for further links and even, dare I say it, the holy grail of a direct rail spur to the airport. And that's on top of everything else!

The location of the sign is located on the gate on the lay-by next to the Alpha taxiway.

The current occupants of the farm in questions are actually tenants. So despite 3 generations of the family farming the land it couldn’t be unexpected especially as the owners of the land are actually Legal & General and formed part of the Enterprise zone.

If you are taking of the owners of the previous Egerton Grey first house there is certainly some financial clout behind them.

It's been just over a year ago since i did my first trip report of my flight from Cardiff to Barcelona with Vueling and since then i've done 20 more, some better than others! I just wanted to say thank you to everyone on this forum that watch all my videos!

Thank you, Jerry. I enjoy watching your videos and reading your trip reports. By pure coincidence, after I'd watched your Ryanair LBA-DUB video earlier today I was going to ask you how many you've done. Now you come along and tell me without being asked. Psychic?

Thanks! I didn't realise i'd done so many. Got many more to come as well! Though i noticed today that producing them is getting longer!

The Gulf air A332 flew over Penarth earlier today, it was so low the kids nearby all stopped to look at it. Lovely looking aircraft, shame it will be under the cutters torch but a nice bit of business for St Athan.

I saw a photo of it. I think it's the one with the Bahrain grand prix livery.

Demand to remove Visit Wales from Welsh Government control
Aberconwy AM Janet Finch-Saunders spoke out after seeing a fall in the number of international visitors

Interesting that there is a fall in international visitors yet with Qatar Airways operating Doha Wales has better connections internationally than before. The article above does focus more on northern Wales.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
