Sorry to say I agree with Aviador on this one, not looking good, we will back again with yet more amendments for a future meeting. Leeds City Council is made up of a bunch of idiots, obviously no one reads the agenda on this and we are going back over old ground. This should not be allowed as this has been passed in principle subject to the amendments. Its the amendments that should be discussed and nothing else.

I'm sick to death of hearing Cllr Walshaw says "I think every member of this panel believes" (as he does)

From what im seeing i just dont think this is going to be approved, i even think carol cunningham and the airport team are not presenting a good enough package here and i myself are very puzzled by the old terminal still remaining up and converted into further use, that really is weird, why would you keep that wreck of a building up! The airport team have just come back to the panal today and as far as im concerned ruined it!

Good help Leeds with these councillors running the city, complete shambles, can't even get a zoom meeting right.

Vote for the application 9 for - against 5. Motion carried, subject to flying hours, taxi rank and demolition of existing terminal. Great news
Is anyone clear whether this requires an additional vote in the future?

Just to clarify a point @dmrodgers post, the conditional regarding the existing terminal wasn't to demolish it, it was to provide detailed plans for the future of the site.

  • Clear plan for the old terminal
  • No additional extra flights until the completion of the new terminal
  • Addition of Hackney Carriage taxi rank.

As I understand it the motion to approve was given subject to;
Extended flight times not until new terminal built
Hard plan for future demolition/use of old terminal
Provision of a taxi rank for Hackney carriages.

Seems reasonable.

Now going for a lie down.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
