Loganair route to Edinburgh getting a bit of advertisement thanks to the environmental lobby!
“Countries such as France and have started to restrict internal flights where transport options such as trains are available” he continued.
They've used France as an example but don't mention that the French ban is up to 3 hours by train, Cardiff to Edinburgh takes 7 hours.

it only takes 7 hours though because the lack of some sort of Hs2 link?

Yep and the likelihood of one happening is virtually nil. So i expect it'll still be a route that'll stick around despite environmental campaigners wanting it gone.

So apparently Loganair are starting to release Summer 2022. Nothing onsale for Cardiff yet but hopefully we'll see Edinburgh go to at least a daily flight. Can't see Glasgow coming back though. Though not ever going to happen a flight to Inverness would be great!

We are slowly getting back to where we need to be, Covid permitting Summer 2022 could be a very good season for CWL, without being reliant on one airline for shorter routes,

It has to be hoped so because at the moment CWL is lagging behind the likes of Exeter and Newquay airports in terms of passenger numbers this summer.

CAA stats published today for July show that CWL handled 10,000 passengers in the month, Exeter 13,000 and Newquay 23,000. No doubt much of this is tourism-related, especially with NQY, so it does show how important inbound tourism could be both for CWL and Wales, something mentioned recently in another CWL thread.

Loganair's Edinburgh route saw 1055 passengers use it in December. The airline operated 18 departures in December and averaged 29 passengers per flight. Lets hope that over time they'll add more frequency to the route and grow it back to something like the passenger numbers it once had pre pandemic.

Three Loganair flights from Edinburgh next Friday 11th, in connection with the 6 Nations game, also a Jet2 flight on 10th from Edinburgh, probably the Scottish team.
Between them there are 5 departures over the 3 days of the 10/2, 11/2 and 12/2. Should help give the Edinburgh route a little boost.

Loganair have released winter 2022/23 up to February. Good news in that between November until 9th January Edinburgh will be 6 weekly (no flights on Saturday) up from 4 weekly but it does drop back to 4 weekly from 9th January.

Looking at Loganair for winter 2022/23 and it doesn't look like there has been any changes. The route will be 6 weekly in November, December and March and 4 weekly in Janaury and February. Hopefully we'll see Edinburgh to at least daily for next summer.

Good news, Loganair have put Cardiff to Edinburgh onsale for Summer 2023 up to mid-August. The route is still 6 weekly with no flights on Saturdays. The flight times are the same everyday. EDI-CWL 14.30-15.45 CWL-EDI 16.15-17.30.

Looks like the aircraft will be an E145 again.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
