I think the problem was caused by aircraft turning on the runway rather than braking after landing. I can't see it making much difference to a concrete ribbed runway whether they brake hard or gently and much of the stopping power is reverse thrust, which has no impact on the runway.

I thought the turning restriction haď been removed now Alpha is open again.

After all the great work done by lbaspotter on the winter timetable I’m hearing from other, non-aviation connected forums, that Ryanair are cancelling a number of flights during the winter months due to only receiving 14 of the 27 new 737 max aircraft due by December ‘23. O’Leary said in an article that the remaining 47 due by end of Qtr1’24 is “in the lap of the gods”. It look like a repeat of problem’s earlier this year. Hopefully, LBA will be unaffected as I’ve not heard of any cancellations yet.

The schedule I posted a few days back for LBA remains intact.
 
What it doesn’t say is that the delays are due to fastener holes on some 737 Max aft pressure bulkheads being improperly drilled. There are around 1,000 holes in the aft pressure bulkhead, 500 are machine-drilled and on some planes those had been drilled by one of three subcontractors to Spirit, the fuselage manufacturer, as oblong instead of circular holes. As you do!
 
Looks like Jet2 are giving Ryanair a fight on the Leeds - Paris service next summer 2024, with a total of 8x weekly flights operating between the pair.

Ryanair - Paris Beauvais remains 3x weekly with change of days (Mon, Thu & Sat)
Jet2 - Paris Cdg additional Tue flight, Increases from 4x to 5x weekly (Mon-Tue, Thu-Fri & Sun)

Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
