Reported on the BOH thread in the DFF that LS are to operate BOH-AGA this winter after the FR pull out. Wonder if LS will start to look at RAK from LBA as well as wider Morocco services from other bases where FR have pulled flights?
Must have been listening to you as Jet2 have announced Marrakesh from LBA starting in October 2025 according to SeanM on X

Even if FR don't go back on RAK I think they will do something else with the a/c where the RAK gaps are. If they do go back to RAK, would AGA be on the cards to play LS at their own game. Would be very FR like to do such a thing

I heard FR are no longer allowed to operate between UK and Morrocco with EI registered aircraft or crews as neither coutry is in the EU, just as FR has to fly UK domestic sectors with G- registered aircraft in the future
Sounds like there isn’t a quick fix for FR apart from using UK AC/Crews. Obviously currently limited and from certain bases hence some routes remaining.

Well done Jet2 for spotting the opportunity.

The Thursday Gap has been filled with a 4th weekly Faro rotation, the Sunday gap remains to be filled.

Very given we've been told several times the A321NEOS are not coming to LBA for the foreseeable by certain members.

Now why would Jet2 move a B738 simulator out of Bradford training centre and over to MAN to move an A321 into Bradford - when they could easily just have the A321 in MAN.

One suspects we will see them alot sooner then people think.
It’s been in the pipeline for years.

Imagine if one of the training centres went up in flames tomorrow. Jet2’s training capacity would be decimated and pilots would be out of check very quickly which would cause major headaches.

Mix the centres up a bit with different sim types at each site and you have your contingency plan sorted!

Also, do remember that every Jet2 pilot has had to visit Bradford for years and years. Moving a type close to its pilots for a new base is just wishful optimism! The pilots of Glasgow would love a 738 sim close by!
Those of us at LBA have had to travel to south of Gatwick for the past 3 years for our 733 sim! Moving that out of its home base squashes your theory 😉

All I’ll say is keep an eye on how the LBA fleet performs this summer. As heard a rumour we could see the Airbus A321NEO’s making appearances to cover duties for tech aircraft.
Just like the Boeing 757’s did last summer.

Oh and by way I’m lead to believe that Jet2’s Airbus A321NEO’s are now CATIIIB certified into LBA.

You’re talking far too much sense pilot_737 😉 I understand a fair few have been sent to the big posh building opposite the Premier Inn in Crawley recently too, the one with the big orange banner on the front of it! When you see the scale of other training centres you realise that an airline the size of Jet2 perhaps needs a lot more capacity than is offered at Cheadle or Bradford. Feel sorry for those STN based crew who are used to the finer things in life being forced to travel up to RAF Bradford for their sessions. Least there’s a Greggs a short walk away for after those hours in the sweat box that probably started at 1am.

There is a recruitment campaign currently ongoing to source the relevant licensed experienced and cadet level pilots to be based in Morocco. Another Brexit benefit.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
