Very interesting post on LinkedIn by Ralph Anker who is a Content provider for Air Service One regards Jet2 summer 2026 operation. LBA see’s a 2% growth but I’m not sure how that can be unless an aging B737-300 has been swapped with a Boeing 737-800.

Jet2 will be launching flights from London Gatwick this summer with its usual mix of popular leisure destinations. Across all of its UK bases capacity is set to grow by 8% this summer (S26) compared with S25. At eight of its top 20 destinations the number of available seats will be more than 10% higher than in S25.

Among destinations seeing a cut in capacity are Bodrum, Dalaman and Izmir in Turkiye, as well as city-break destinations Krakow, Prague and Rome. New destinations for this summer are La Palma (Spain), Palermo (Italy) and Samos (Greece). As a result, around 70 destinations across mainland Europe are served by the airline from its 14 UK bases this summer.

The airline's biggest UK bases (ranked by seats) are
Manchester (seats up 4% versus 2025),
Birmingham (+4%)
London Stansted (+1%)
Leeds/Bradford (+2%)
East Midlands (+1%)
Newcastle (-2%)
Glasgow (+2%)
Bristol (+1%)
Edinburgh (+2%),
London Gatwick (NEW)
Liverpool (+1%)
London Luton (+44%)
Belfast Int’l (+1%)
Bournemouth (+5%).

Excluding Gatwick and Luton, seat growth across all other airports is just 2%.With over 120 aircraft (mostly Boeing 737-800s and Airbus A321neos), Jet2 is the UK's third biggest airline after British Airways and easyjet.

Looking at the graph, I’m assuming the +2% is the seats available of the entire S26 season vs the S25 season, meaning the increase could be down to routes operating for longer periods during the season/starting earlier/longer peak-season etc. BRS for example also sees an increase but the number and type of aircraft based haven’t changed from S25 to S26

I didnt think Phil Meeson had been Exec Chairman for at least a year.
When I did a search for the article, the numbers / people stated withn, the following result came back " This strongly suggests the text you provided is synthetic, unpublished, or from an internal / draft / AI‑generated source "

Based on that, I'd take it with a very large pinch of salt.

Yes I think he has left the business. Possibly has a non executive roll.
The annual results are not posted till July. So where has this come from?
The post has been soft deleted until such time as a link to the source is provided. Until such time, the sourse was @BCFC.

I've said it before, I'll say it again, and I won't be surprised, but I think there are some A330's order within that Airbus contract that are not confirmed to the public.

One would imagine when Airbus get to X A321 - they'l ask Jet2 if they want to convert them into A330. And that would be when they announce long haul. After all it's TUI's only at this moment with Virgin taking care of the Disney express. I imagine Jet2 will happily take a slice of the Disney on top of giving TUI some competition in Mexico, Jamaica, Dom Rep and bringing back some of the TC stuff also.

I p
I was wondering why the 2nd Saturday Salzburg flight wasn't operating this February half term. After some research I found out it hasn't operated since 2023. Somehow I completely missed that. It's not like it wouldn't sell, the half term flights seem to be full this year
I personally think its strange how infrequent the flights to Salzburg are. I much prefer Austrian resorts over Switzerland, and theyve definitley got much more charm than France. I would have thought 2 flights a week or a much longer 'season' would be justified. Its a pain being restricted to 7 or 14 nights.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
