    Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.

    Haven't really planned that far ahead yet. I'll be staying by Sydney Harbour and Auckland Harbour. Wanted to get the flights booked so I didn't talk myself out of it! 😆
    Might look to see if I can do a Super rugby game maybe take a day trip to other cities as well. Will have 4 nights in each country.

    Don't forget to get whatever visa you need for Oz sorted in plenty of time. I left it too late when I went to NZ in 2019, and had to rebook to avoid Oz completely.

    The joys of travel. Train from Edinburgh to Leeds is cancelled so having another night in Edinburgh and heading back in the morning!
    Tbf Edinburgh isn't a bad city to be stuck in.

    Today was the beginning of my 41st year on this planet and also the day I moved too a different country! After living in Wales for my whole life, due to personal reasons I've now moved to Leeds. Hopefully one day I'll be able to move back home to Wales but for the immediate future my life is now in Yorkshire! Guess it also means Leeds Bradford Airport is now my local airport! Hopefully I'll fly from there soon!

    Big decision made today. Decided to quit my job at the end of the month and take a break from long distance driving. 15 years is a long time to work for 1 company.
    Going to try and use the break to get my enthusiasm back for avgeekery in general!

    I'll probably look to continue driving but not the long distance stuff. After a break i'll look for a local job that means i'm home every day and gives me a better work life balance.

    There seems to be a shortage of lorry drivers across the UK. Is that partly due to Brexit with Eastern Europeans no longer driving in the numbers they once did? First Group in Bristol once set up a recruiting base in Poland for bus drivers. There are still a lot of Polish bus drivers in and around the city.

    That is part of it and the pandemic has stopped tests but also the job is less appealing than it once was especially with the long hours and the 4 to 5 nights away a week. It partly used to be a way of life for many but it is becoming less so. I also think that expansion by companies like Amazon and Aldi has also impacted the shortage.

    Rebooked my BHX to BFS flight for March! Hopefully 3rd time lucky i'll get to fly from Birmingham!

    I've been hearing a lot of trips, mostly cruises, have all been cancelled or postponed, with the earliest dates being April 2021 :oops:

    No it was a flying visit. Went to pick up a car off my sister. Drove back Friday morning. Unfortunately back in work today!

    An unexpected trip to CWL tonight to pick up my sister arriving from Dublin! And her flight is late and probably won't land until 23.45! She was supposed to be going to Leeds!

    Thanks. Yeah it's all sorted just used up money that i would've needed for my trip in December. Not too worry i'm still going in December and it does mean i get to go to Anglesey at the end of the month though i would've prefered Portland!

    Yeah i did but it was stop and start traffic. I posted in one of the stops. I think next time i pass that way i'll mount my camera up and see what i can get! Still amazing to have a 777 fly right over my head!
