Seems like an ever moving situation but here is the updated RYR Schedule from BHX during Summer Peak in August... Still some gaps in the schedule and still plenty of time for a few extra routes/flights to be added. Will RYR break the 50x route offer for the first time? They have now already exceeded 200 weekly departures. A big summer for RYR at BHX for sure...

I wonder if the Ryanair max 8's will be subject to the same checks as the max 9's ? They have an exit it the same place as the 9's. I suppose it depends whether its just a "plug" installation defect.

Madrid now showing as 2x weekly until the end of the bookable schedule which is very disappointing.

It originally showed as increasing from 3x weekly in winter to 4x weekly, which then went down to 2x up to June then 3x onwards.

I recently moved to Madrid and visit family and friends in BHX often.

I’d been trying to support the route, but after a number of cancelled flights, poor flight times/days, a 7 hour delay a few months back (on board the plane with no food/water) and a constantly reduced schedule, I’ve given up.

I’ve resorted to flying either flying with AF/KLM via CDG/AMS (where I have 5+ daily departures with 2h or less connection) or to LHR with BA/IB so I can use my Avios points.

I miss the days we had multiple airlines on the route 😞

Sorry you had to go through that I found it weird you wasn't offered food or water after 7 hours because 45 minutes after departure time the crew members are allowed to serve water, soft drinks and snacks but no alcohol or hot drinks in case the delay comes forward and then after 3 hours we are meant to call operations about returning the passengers back to the terminal building to allow them to get something to eat and drink.

Frustrating to see it fall back to 2x weekly, was 3x weekly last year and was temporarily increased to 4x weekly this summer before falling back to 3x weekly... now back to 2x weekly...

Cant remember if its a BHX based unit this summer, if so be interesting to see where it has gone!? will need to review the timetable.

Surprising and disappointing indeed! Thinking/hoping it’s only a matter of time until we have a second operator on the route…

Anecdotally, the flights always seem to be full, and other passengers I’ve spoken to were surprised that the route can’t sustain 6-7x weekly flights. I appreciate this doesn’t reflect actual yields/general pax figures though!

Re the delay, I appreciate it wasn’t the cabin crew’s fault, and was pleased to see passengers stayed calm towards then for the most part; great to see as they typically endure the brunt of it. 7 hours delayed on board with no information was not fun.

They told us they couldn’t give away water or food for free as they’d “get in trouble” (despite multiple passengers pointing out after 3 hours it’s legally required), and that they couldn’t charge for it as we hadn’t taken off. They then proceeded to eat a sandwich themselves at the front of the cabin at full visibility so we could all see..!! Left quite a bad taste in my mouth!
