Jet2 have added a few extra flights for next few weeks during the Half term school holidays,

Tenerife = Increases from 11x to 12x weekly (Additional 3rd daily Sunday departure)
Las Palmas = Increases from 4x to 5x weekly (Additional 2nd daily Saturday departure)

They have to have been added quite a few months ago as from the booking system they are full (FLIGHT FULL).

According to FR24 we have an A321 (HLYA) due in from MAN just after midday.

There have been a few posts recently saying A21Ns will be coming to LBA sooner rather than later. So any coincidence in YA appearing today - albeit not a NEO?

Or is this an FR24 error?

Sshhh.. Don't tell those that say the A321NEO's will never come. Or even a CEO.

It appear it is coming to rescue something.

I looked at the travel agents window today. Jet2 seem to be discounting late bookings very heavily. By late I mean within the next 2-3 weeks. One week all inclusive in Marrakech for £520!

It looks like the days of late booking and the last minute bargains are back.

The trouble with offering such deal / travel agents doing such deals it’ll be limited to one week. It’s a lead in price - I imagine it’ll be within a bracket. And the £520 is the lowest.

The government don`t want business to survive they just seem to come up with as many ways as possible to make life impossible and then tax them more

Labour are morons. But they aren’t working for us anyway. The traitors are working for the WEF who want middle class destroyed.
The 'leads ins' were self catering and B&B. There were some under £300. I think times are increasingly tough for holiday firms.

I don’t think based on TA advertisements we can judge how well a route is doing.

Talking politics here is very quickly going to decend into something not very nice. I strongly suggest further discussions are taken to the non aviation part of the forum where people have to choose to visit. This keeps the aviation part of the forum friendly and welcoming. Furthermore, you can discuss politics in that area to your hearts content, if its a subject you like to discuss or feel passionate about without being pulled up for going off-topic.

I seem to remember a recent report from Jet2 where they themselves noted a considerable increase in late bookings. I can’t imagine they’re alone in this, it being symptomatic of people feeling the pinch and tightening their belts in the current economic climate of rising prices.

Lets hope they can defer some A321 deliveries if necessary.

It's not just holiday firms, the travel industry as a whole is going through a tough period. Mainly caused by political uncertainty and cost of living, but not exclusively so
I got the impression at the last community meeting that the introduction of larger aircraft may not have been the only reason for cutting back on stand construction.

Plenty of old 300s and 800s, plus possibly CEOs that could go first if pressing ahead with current A21N deliveries

Fair comment and I am sure it was positive spin from VH.

Downturns don't usually, and I say usually, last long so am sure things will be fully back on track before you know it

How to go from a deal spotted in a travel agent window to a downturn in 10 posts.:)
It gave us a window of opportunity to take the thread in a different direction! Still doesn't take away the fact that the travel industry is suffering some challenging times and it's fair to say that this will generate some good offers. Planes and hotels are no good empty

This winter Marrakech is twice weekly but reduces to one per week for next winter.

That’s recently just changed then, as you say it looks like Jet2’s Leeds - Marrakesh route has reduced to 1x weekly Fridays next winter 2026/27 starting October 30 until February 27th. It then increases back to 2x weekly Tue & Fri from March 3rd until April 28th

Maybe its the fact that Ryanair are starting flights to Morocco or maybe it wasnt as popular as they thought.

My friend arrived back on Tuesday and said flights were full both ways- though it was half term.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
