A case of easyJet can operate the route more profitable then..??

A shame for Jet2 to see a route go, but it never did fit into their leisure/package model.. hopefully the a/c can be used to open a route that is..!!

Also, Titan Airways is operating for Jet2 over a MAN today..

G-ZAPX is currently operating the LS791/2, to and from ROME FCO..

MAN-FUE now on sale.

1 weekly every Fri from April 2014, 2nd weekly on Mon from May.

Jet2 increases for Summer 2014:

Reus: 3 weekly up from 2
Dalaman: Daily up from 6 weekly
Barcelona: 6 weekly up from 5
Las Palmas: 3 weekly up from 2
Tenerife: Daily up from 5 weekly
Lanzarote: 4 weekly up from 3
Bodrum: 3 weekly up from 2
Zante: 2 weekly up from 1
Rhodes: 2 weekly up from 1
Kos: 2 weekly up from 1
Heraklion: 3 weekly up from 2
Corfu: 2 weekly up from 1
Paphos: 3 weekly up from 2
Fuerteventura: New 2 weekly flight

Not all flights on sale yet, but that's 16 new flights for S14.

Dubrovnik continues at 2 weekly.

So far, only Tel Aviv is known to be cut for S14, so, if all S13 flights that are not currently on sale for S14 continue at least at the same frequency, another aircraft will need to be based at MAN for S14.

If you look in the world airline i've done a base by base synopsis of long flying. Manchester gains 14 extra flights over leeds for Summer 14. Doing the maths, that means that even at Tel Aviv level for 2013, only 2 of those will be taken up by gap's left by a withdrawl of the route. That means there is 14 on top of the current Summer 13 schedule (16-2(for TLV)). That means two extra aircraft at man.

Jet2 have announced 3 new routes from MAN for S14.

3 weekly Jersey, 2 weekly Bergerac and the best till last, a 3 weekly Vienna!!!!!!

A VIE route from somewhere other than London is long overdue. Also shows that these 'discovery' flights have lead to something more permanent.

Summer 2014 timetable for Jet2. There is no YOY comparison as Ive lost my sheet with S13 frequencies.

All info is based on a weekly schedule in August 2014.

Faro: 11 weekly (double daily Mon, Fri, Sat, Sun)
Fuerteventura: 2 weekly
Las Palmas: 3 weekly
Ibiza: 10 weekly (double daily Mon, Fri and Sat)
Jersey: 3 weekly
Kos: 2 weekly
Lanzarote: 4 weekly
Funchal: 2 weekly
Palma: 14 weekly (double daily)
Malaga: 7 weekly
Mahon: 3 weekly
Murcia: 7 weekly
Nice: 6 weekly
Paphos: 3 weekly
Paris CDG: 4 weekly
Pisa: 6 weekly
Prague: 6 weekly
Pula: 1 weekly
Reus: 3 weekly
Rhodes: 3 weekly
Rome FCO: 7 weekly
Split: 2 weekly
Tenerife: 7 weekly
Toulouse: 4 weekly

Summer routes from MAN: 37
Overall weekly frequencies from Manchester: 174
New routes for Summer 2014: Bergerac, Fuerteventura, Jersey and Vienna.
Destinations dropped: Tel Aviv
Winter only routes: Chambery, Geneva, Grenoble and Salzburg
Aircraft needed in Summer 2014: 15
Overall routes from MAN: 41

All in all not a bad summer ahead for Jet2.

757 G-LSAI has just diverted into Faro operating the 918 back from Tenerife.

Does anyone know why?

Thanks

Jet2 are to start a once weekly Saturday winter ski service to Turin from Manchester with flights commencing from December 20th 2014 and running until April 11th 2015.

LS935 = MAN 07:30 - TRN 10:45
LS936 = TRN 11:30 - MAN 12:45

Very good news. Shame that they have not choosen to expand that into other bases such as Glasgow, Leeds, East Midlands or Newcastle but good news none the less. I of course understand why they have choosen not to do this, with Manchester probably having a larger established market.

Who knows whats next? Anybody feeling a Innsbruck route.

looks like G LSAH operating LS933 to Salzburg has a problem as it seems to be circling around Doncaster at 9000ft, assuming he's burning fuel?

3 new routes now loaded for summer 2015.

Antalya 2 weekly
Malta 2 weekly
Kefalonia 1 weekly.

Jet2 now operate 46 destinations from Manchester, with rumours of 2 more to come.

Forgot to post last week after arriving back from Gran Canaria with Jet2 but the flights were great! Jet2 have their own dedicated floor for check in at Manchester on the ground level check-in. Service was very quick with very friendly staff, in fact we were through check-in and security in around 30 minutes! Both flights were on-time with the outbound operated by G-LSAI and inbound G-LSAG, both aircrafts very clean and in great condition with fantastic crew (always have had in all the years I've been flying with Jet2) border control at both airports was very quick as was baggage with us being out of the airport within 30 minutes after landing. Used Jet2holidays for the first time too and again have no complaints! Well done Jet2!!

Like its other bases, Jet2 have announced their return to Tunisia.

While NCL/EMA/LBA/GLA get 1 weekly flight each, MAN gets 2 weekly flights. B757-200 on Wed and Sun from May 24th, 2015.

I hear the current plan for jet2 is to lease one A330 for summer 2015. The a/c will be based at MAN and operate the popular short haul holiday routes.

I expect to see it on:

PMI
AGP
ALC
TFS
DLM

Interesting times ahead for Jet2.

Jet2 have now confirmed the lease of the Air Asia X A330-300. No specific routes announced yet, but, confirmed no long haul for the foreseeable. I did have the press release somewhere but can't find it at the moment.

A330-300 now appearing on Jet2.com website seat map.

TFS/BJV/PMI/DLM and FAO seem to be the lucky candidates.

Air Asia X A330-300 9M-XXM will be operating for Jet2 from May-Sept.

It will operate Dalaman Monday and Saturday, Tenerife Tuesday and Friday, Pathos on Wednesdays, Palma on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Lanzarote on Thursdays and Bodrum on Sundays.

Not too incentive a schedule, so should work quite well.

Even tempted to buy a quick PMI flight to try out the Air Asia business class cabin for such a cheap price and not have to travel across the earth to get to it either!

Rumours on several forums that the deal for the Air Asia A330 has fallen through.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
